Nic Dowd can't save you Vegas. Sorry but we want that top 10 pick from you!

We HAVE to be able to land a 1st for Coleman with these prices for forwards that are far inferior.

If Dowd can get a 2nd and a 3rd plus prospect, Coleman is definitely worth a first

Players like Coleman rarely get 1sts. Teams would rather pay less for a lesser player that still fills a role.

? We're talking about the same player that got 2 1sts and had a prominent role in the Lightning's runs. Dowd also has a 3m cap hit that expires in 2027. No reason NOT to get a 1st with Coleman, especially with retention.

Is Nichushkin for Kadri still a thing?

I'm warming up to it if that's what it takes to set Nazem free.

This statement made me curious and sent me down a rabbit hole. Puckpedia has the total pick value for the 2026/27/28 drafts of each team. Here they are;

Ana - 83.03
Bos - 134.01
Buf - 68.14
Cgy - 286.79
Car - 80.97
Chi - 318.25
Col - 50.48
Cbj - 73.00
Dal - 29.29
Det - 67.01
Edm - 52.73
Fla - 64.37
Lak - 125.97
Min - 41.49
Mtl - 73.17
Nas - 146.18
Njd - 118.47
Nyi - 81.64
Nyr - 245.07
Ott - 94.53
Phi - 154.66
Pit - 100.45
Sjs - 140.91
Sea - 162.92
Stl - 222.22
Tbl - 42.63
Tor - 50.84
Uta - 72.73
Van - 258.89
Vgk - 32.82
Was - 65.66
Wpg - 109.6

This is somewhat flawed as all three years establish pick value based on todays standing. So, as a team improves, their pick values drop and vice versa. I still find it interesting. The combination of being a non-playoff team and low pick value is not ideal. Everyone knows Toronto is in a bad state and these numbers sure show that. We're second to Chicago. Vegas is, as expected, dead last by a bit.
