I think that's part of it. I think Tocchets ability to strip the creativity out of a team also really helped Myers. He knew where his outlet passes were supposed to go because every player had to follow the x's and o's, except Hughs and Miller.

I don't know if anyone wants Kane. Even at 50% retained he's 2.55 million that could be spent on a player who isn't constantly a minus, or taking dumb penalties at inopportune times. I think they'll find a taker for Bueger, but I'm guessing a 3rd would be selling high. Garland is a weird one, so I don't want to speculate, but if Debrusk still wants to stay in western Canada there's only one team that would want him at the deadline. And they already blew their load on a 3rd pairing D and a 3rd line center.
