None of the returns we're seeing suggest it's a buyers market.

As Icon said: now give us Bischel for Coleman

Capwages says they have $2.6M in cap space. Myers cost $1.5M and presumably one of the Dmen making $775K comes out. So that leaves them with about $1.9M left

Making just over a mil for this year and next. I like this for Dallas. He makes less than Hanley/Bean and around the same as Pachal.

It's starting to seem like retention is expected in almost every trade. Which makes using up a slot over multiple years really hard.

Blake at 50% should net both picks a round higher.

1st and 3rd imo.

Kadri is a tough one. No retention... I'd say a cap dump and a 1st. Montreal for example, Anderson and 1st would be fine in my view.

Can't really be compared. It was said teams will be paying a premium for RH defenseman this year's TDL.

I wonder if the markets could be different at different tiers. Similar to real estate, the upper end of the market can be different than the lower end.

Seems a good return, but it's getting late early and they have so much work to do before Friday. Need to trade Kane and Blueger, maybe Drew O'Connor, probably one of Debrusk or Garland...

Maybe they've been working on all of these things for a while but IMO they should have started moving these guys a week ago or more, and they might run out of time. Wouldn't be the first time.

Myers at 1.5M is a good get. I don't think its an overpayment.

I do wonder if this would open up Dallas being willing to move Lybushkin as a cap dump to Calgary as part of a trade for Coleman/

And then no retention would be required on Coleman

It’s a 1st if it’s a home team

The only team I thought he would waive for.

Edit - Like this deal for both teams.

is there a limit to how far in the future you can trade draft picks?

Just noticed the Oilers already traded their 2029 2nd round pick.

I feel like Myers has been given a bit of a rough ride by Canuck fans (maybe just my friends but I doubt it). Before this last contract, he was placed into roles too high on their depth chart for the player he is I think, which would lead to some mistakes. I've always thought of him as a steady, physical dman that kills penalties and can move the puck up fine. Good for a number 4 guy.

Limited by a team's supply of plutonium for the flux-capacitor.
