He creates chances. Finds the right spots. But he misses A LOT of said chances, and I don’t think that’s gonna change.

The main issue that I see with it is that instead of measuring a knee past the defender, we'll be measuring a knee inside the daylight zone. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Ultimately it is a change that gives attackers an advantage. As far as offside goes, the line has simply been moved from the last defender to the last defender plus a gap. If adopted in VAR leagues, the VAR will still be counting pixels, just on a different line.

Well VAR is a whole other issue and discussion. I'm against it and I think these initiatives in sports in general just aren't positives. I can admit that I was thinking that they were going to be great and solve so many things, but the truth is that it's made things worse. Looking at pixels or millimeters to make these decisions is just stupid.
And we still have mistakes and terrible calls anyway. We haven't fixed anything in that regard, and just added more irritation and a poorer experience for fans.

^ VAR aside, I think that the daylight rule will actually be more difficult to call and make offsides fuzzier. I guess that's the point to some. Instead of having an object (last defender) as the line, we now have a fuzzy "last defender plus some space".
I think that the ambiguity will be frustrating for players, officials, and viewers. Attackers, however, will love it.

I agree, and while it's frustrating watching CPL games when a call is totally botched, I will trade that every time for the fact that when a big goal goes in I can actually enjoy the moment instead of looking around nervously to see if my candy is going to be taken away.

Even with botched calls now and then the better team wins 99% of the time.

Which makes me feel that this is a VAR problem, and not an offside problem. "Old school", human-called offside is naturally a little fuzzy anyway. Sometimes it benefits the defender, sometimes the attacker. Sometimes it is spot on, and other times it is blatantly wrong.
The daylight offside rule is a response to VAR and pixel counting, but I feel that it misses the mark as we'll still end up counting pixels - just now it will be a toe past the daylight zone vs. a toe past the defender.
And for the CPL, a non-VAR league, it will just create confusion and frustration. So we have a non-VAR league testing a new offside rule that was brought about because of frustrations with VAR.
I guess we'll see how it plays out, and it is the same rules for all teams, etc. so it is fine. And might bring some international attention to the CPL - hopefully positive!

I believe in the Jays.

I like the sound of the modified version of the daylight rule where they use torsos instead of any body part. That feels way closer to the spirit of the original rule where you are really just looking for an advantage gained by an attacker.
And ya, VAR sucks and the implementation of it has been completely botched. They’ve made it an additional ref rather than a system to fix obvious mistakes.

With the Cavs? Interesting. Kind of seemed like maybe there was some frustration with his inconsistency and that Tommy was ready to turn the page. I wonder if they were looking at someone specific to replace Musse then couldn't get that player.

Found Fraser Aird's landing spot. He's going to be a player/coach for the Foothills League One team. Their head coach, who I've gotten to know quite well, comes from Man City. Coached some top players, including Phil Foden. Should be a great add for the development of the player pipeline. Brilliant soccer mind. (Darren Bowman)

Does he have any of that sweet Abu Dhabi money to inject into the program here?

Negative. Can confirm Foothills L1 (men and women's) are actively looking for sponsorship haha. The maximum a L1 player can be paid is $5,000/season and I think total payroll can't exceed $25,000.
He does have a TON of contacts though...so he could pull lots of talent from around the world...but guys need to know that it's just to get looked at for CPL opportunities, and pay is little to none.
I could listen to this guy talk football for hours though. So good. He at one point was having weekly calls with Pep.

Bowman is a massive get for Foothills.
Surprised Aird didn't sign elsewhere but he loves Calgary so I guess it's time to look at the next chapter of life.
