Default Stars defeat Flames 6-1, March 3rd

The Stars did in fact “go”.

Another important loss.

Team seemed distracted. And I think both Kadri and Coleman avoided blocking several shots. Might have been inevitable, given the circumstances.

Flames played hard, but.. just a lot of terrible luck. Dallas deserved to win, but I don't think by that lopsided score.

Vegas lost today too!

Woof. Dallas can sure zip it.

Genuinely wild to me how they'd let Coleman and Kadri take a regular shift in the 3rd period of a 6-1 game 3 days before the trade deadline if deals are anywhere close. Just such a bizarre risk to me with essentially nothing to gain.

Most importantly, no trade chips were injured!

I'd love to not suck one day.

Can we just hit a home run this draft and next so we can put this quietly hoping for losses behind us?

Trade the players. We need to finish at the bottom and inject some actual talent into this team for when that billion dollar arena opens.

Four years of mediocre futility, and we still have a long way to go. We're just getting to the point where we'll finally get to draft the players we really need.

If there's ever a safe time to play, it's when the game is out of reach and the other team doesn't want to risk injuries leading up to the playoffs. Nobody is going to start anything under those conditions.

The last 20 games are going to be hard to stay motivated for.

I will admit I have fallen asleep watching the be last 4 games since the break.

Not sure how this lineup gets any better next season.

Can't believe we needed to take 3.5 years since our last core was dismantled to reach this point.

Other teams out there wasted no time getting to the bottoming out part, and now are already on their way up (Ducks, Sharks kind-of)

I guess we wanted to smell the flowers along the way, clinging to faint playoffs hopes with a roster that had no 1st line, instead of reading the writing on the wall the moment Tre and our window left town.

At least we got here, I guess. Even that was in question for a bit.

The only hope of that rests on probably drafting McKenna or Stenberg who graduate right away as well as signing Wyttenbach and them being good right off the hop. Which is all highly unlikely.

So yeah, we'll be bad.

although you're probably right, i feel like if this lottery goes our way then we'll be better next year...maybe other teams will improve even more to cancel it out - who knows?

Some teams improve, some teams get worse...every year

Anaheim and the Sharks only look good because of the division though, they won't even be as good as the Flames last season points wise
