Nashville just got a 2nd for a 4th line C that's a pending UFA, no chance it's a Buyers market

I wish pro sports analysts would stop trying to describe every in the form of betting odds.

And he is right.

If the difference it between getting a 3rd now versus a 2nd later, or 2nd now with max multiyear retention and 2nd later with little or no retention, I'm waiting and taking the latter every time. Especially if teams are offering 2027 picks anyway, which is possible when you looks at the picks a lot of contenders have.

How else are they going to indoctrinate kids into a life of miserable gambling addiction?

Both big pieces might not move, but if that happens it's likely just because they don't have retention slots

I don't understand how it's a buyers' market. Have a lot of sellers entered the market since the weekend?

Term seems like the Boogeyman for GMs if you’re to believe the insiders. Expiring deals are coveted and are maybe the exception this deadline.

Dregers been saying it is a buyers market for a week.

But he also said we had great offers for Kadri but the team didn't want to retain salary. Which is disappointing.

It would be pretty crazy for a team in the flames spot to only make 1 trade. Out of the playoffs by a mile with a terrible veteran laden roster.

There are guys like pachal and lomberg you literally trade for any asset. And then for guys like hanley we dont need a homerun either.

Im all for the flames trading just one of coleman or kadri if they need retention to really maximize the return on the 2nd guy.

But this week is basically the last bit of excitement we will have as flames fans until the lottery.. the flames talking heads proactively dampening any enthusiasm and telling the fans we will have 1 or 2 deals tops before we are even at deadline day is just brutal stuff for an already suffering fanbase. Maybe thats just being realistic but it would be a massive disappointment with where the team it at.

Sounds like damage control to me. Get Eric Francis to put that out there because they know fans are expecting at minimum Kadri and Coleman to both be moved.

Lomberg I get but why do we think Pachal, who can’t crack the lineup of one of the worst teams, has value?

Still wouldn't mean it's a buyers market, would mean it's a stuck market as teams have guys with term to sell but there are very few UFA options available.

Its fair if it doesnt happen its just a downer saying it looks likely before ppl even get a chance to enjoy the day. Who knows what offers will come in. But yeah maybe its the way itll go and perhaps there just is no interest in the lower end guys too right now and they are starting to be fearful the fanbase will get even more POed

Do you expect both Kadri and Coleman to be moved from what you are hearing? I thought the rumor was the market was hot for both.
