I still view Kadri as the more important player to move this season.
Older, would like to go play playoff hockey.
I think Coleman loses less value between now and next deadline. I think with Kadri, time is of the essence.

The biggest thing “helping us win” is between the pipes and that tandem isn’t going anywhere but you’re entitled to own opinion.

Yep, I agree with you completely.
We don't HAVE to trade them, but it would be very dumb not to. Considering you are hurting your chances at a top 3 pick, and neither player will be worth more next year than this year (in my opinion).

If they are not traded, it’s because nobody offered anything good, especially Kadri. There is no reason to keep him. It’s downhill from here on for him….

I wonder if the flames didn’t think it was a good look to bench players with Bettman there tonight actually. That feels like a real reason

I do think that it becomes a lot harder for the goalies to keep them in it if they don't have Kadri at center ice.

Just so you are prepared for this...even if we trade all of our vets, we are not guaranteed to lose more games. Even if we're worse on paper, post trade bumps happen. Players suddenly getting more ice time could pop, like Gridin, Zary, Sharangovich, Whitecloud, Bahl or whatever prospects we call up. Players can start taking on more responsibility and thrive. Most importantly, Wolf and Cooley are looking really good and are stealing games/points.
Post trade bumps, like coaching change bumps or any other hot streak, will end and even out over time, but with only 20 or so games left, there may not be enough time for things to even out and we could very well end on a heater.
I wouldn't be so sure that losses are guaranteed once the trades happen.

This is true but I like playing the odds. The odds are when you lose your best center and one of your top wingers, you will start losing more.
We started losing more once we lost our best defenseman.

I see the usual suspects are dooming and glooming because a trade wasn't made for Calgary (similar to every other team).

I'm 100% fine if we have a bump because of young players getting bigger roles.
That's one half of this rebuild that we seem to be dragging our feet on.
Make way for the kids, damn it!

I didn't say that they're the biggest thing helping us win. Them being here and actively playing is a net positive for today's lineup. Ergo, they're helping the team win games and earn points in the standings. If they're traded, even with major factors such as stellar goaltending, the team is less capable overall of earnings points and therefore may achieve a higher pick.

That logic is terrible. You play the odds. Drafting 1st doesn't guarantee a star player but more star players are drafted 1st than any other pick.
Trading Kadri and Coleman doesn't guarantee anything but over the next couple seasons I'm pretty sure they lose more games without them than with them.

Every player on a one-way contract with a higher than $2M cap hit plays every single game, as long as they're healthy, regradless of the circumstances.

Nope, I'm not even talking about the next couple of seasons. Rhett is lamenting that we're costing our chances of drafting top 3 THIS SEASON because we didn't sit Coleman this game and are winning games, and I'm saying it's possible that it doesn't even matter, with only 20 or so games left, we're not guaranteed to lose more the rest of this season.

Nobody is glooming, I think we will trade both.
Conroy is not a dummy. He knows there is zero reason to keep either player. Some people have stated that we don't need to trade both, which I strongly disagree with but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I see some discussion about the ideal time to trade and not waiting until next season or the offseason.
I don't see people glooming.
