I'd be surprised if both Smith and Coleman were of interest to the Lightning, so if Smith is done to Tampa might mean they are out on Coleman.
Coleman is the much better player though.

It might not be reality but I feel like if Kadri ends up in Colorado and Coleman ends up in Dallas that I might question if the Flames actually got the best possible return for each player
Would make me feel like the team just got the best offer at the players preferred destination instead of holding a true bidding war.

The biggest argument against this is that Naz and Coleman help us win, and winning is not helpful at the moment. If trading them is the difference between, for example, picking 3rd overall or 5th, that's massive value even absent whatever assets we get from the other teams.

Are you suggesting they would turn down better offers? Because I'm not buying that

I do prefer Hemming over O'Reilly.

Hemming or O’Reilly are both acceptable. As long as it comes with something

It might be an unpopular opinion, but maybe nothing is close enough to warrant sitting either player. Sitting them could discourage teams from jumping into the fray if they think Craig is just crossing the tees on a trade, while playing them is a show that they are still open for offers.
Maybe even more unpopular is that it might make sense to wait and there could be better offers in the offseason when the cap goes up, roster spots open on other teams, and we get another retention spot open.
When it comes to older players in particular, expiring contracts are actually preferrable. The demand for Coleman and Kadri might not be as high as we are being led to believe.

Really? Coleman and Smith are completely different players though. Smith replaces whatever schmuck they have on the 4th line, like Douglas or Sabourin. Coleman plays higher in the lineup, and pushes players like Holmberg or Bjorkstrand down. They're not competing for the same spots, and it's not like Tampa is flush with depth.

Probably depends how close the offers are, and of course NTC considerations too.
It's possible both of those teams pay the highest price but honestly would feel a bit do convenient to me.
The org seems to just really want to "do right" by both of these guys, and if the difference in the return is small I think they could lean to sending them to the preferred destination.
In Coleman's case it would be pretty awesome for him if he does end up in Dallas but I personally don't love the assets they have.

It’d be a huge miss to not ship both Kadri and Coleman this week.
