I kind of like how this war is one country which has used nukes, teaming up with another country which refuses to say if it has nukes, telling the world they have to stop a third country from getting nukes.

So, uh...how 'bout those Epstein files?
Well, a dementia riddled child rapist and a white Christian nationalist are in charge of the military, so…

Much like Venezuela this is only happening to secure the US oil supply.

20 years ago it might have even worked as a containment strategy against China. Their development of alternative energy will largely blunt the impact.

Make no mistake - the US gives zero f-cks about any nation without oil. It's why they're just going to starve out Cuba, despite it being on their border.

I'm not convinced it's fake news, will give it a few hours to simmer today. Mike Masnick is usually pretty quick to retract if he re-posts something that is wrong.

Anyway, in the interest of remaining fair and balanced, The Fox News is here to show this is indeed a "both sides" thing.

Quote:
But a Fox News Digital investigation reveals that, for certain hardline #####e ideologues, including in the U.S., this is not an ending but a prophetic showdown that will usher in the arrival of the "Mahdi," a messiah, according to Islamic eschatology, or the theology of end times.

In this prophecy, Mahdi will emerge to battle Dajjal, the Islamic equivalent of the Antichrist, in a final battle of Armageddon. For many of these ideologues, President Donald Trump is Dajjal.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/cha...ic-showdown-us

And by both sides, I mean that they are both certifiably insane believing fables and fantasy to support that their side is indeed the one side God favours. Seriously everyone, stop putting these people in positions of power. They are gonna kill us all one day. And yes, by 'these people" I mean religious fundamentalists. Just the worst. Stop it.

Succinct opinion by Rolling Stone.

Quote:
If you’re feeling shell-shocked trying to keep up with Operation Epstein Distraction, get ready for the inevitable next crisis — regime change without a plan for replacement. This is what the Trump administration did in Venezuela — kidnapping the socialist dictator Maduro but keeping his regime in place in exchange for crude oil access. The opposition is still in exile and its leader María Corina Machado gave her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump in exchange for exactly nothing.

One of the clear lessons of history is that if you don’t win the peace, you don’t win the war. The Saudis and their Sunni allies will back the U.S. and Iran because they hate the Shia Iranians (who, incidentally, are not Arabs), but beyond removing the Iranian regime, the plans for replacement and stabilization seem TBD — and with Trump’s inability to stay focused on anything beyond his immediate self-interest, solid plans are unlikely to emerge.

Be good if someone in the administration would explain how going into a conflict of this magnitude, with no strategy or specific end goal, will help the American people and make their lives better.
Six service members gave their lives for something, but no one knows what.
Perhaps we should ask Netanyahu?

It’s pretty amazing to me that in this day and age there are still very stupid, easy marks with no depth that get duped, fooled and suckered by the bullsht spewed by war mongering cons. Especially coming from a fascist regime lead by a demented moron who rapes kids.

I believe it’s documented that we are actually becoming dumber collectively as of late.

It’s like they’re trying to create future terrorists/combatants in as many countries as they can.

I wonder how much weaponry has been sent to the Ukranian battlefield depleting the Iranian supplies. That being said if there is a country that would have experience in producing drones it is Iran, I guess it just depends on their stockpiles and their ability to produce anything while being simultaneously attacked.

Either way what a ####ing ####show.
Trump is now saying he wants someone from within the Regime taking over. Which does what for the people of Iran?

Maybe that person is less fundamentalist and less oppressive, or maybe they aren't. They could just as easily crack down on protests and seek to consolidate power through a system designed to do the same.

Time and time again we have seen regime changes fail because they lack support from the victors and lack the institutional structures to allow it to succeed.

Spoiler!

Also, what's the end goal?

Israel and Saudi Arabia apparently pushed for this. Do they want a democratic and successful Iran? hell no. They want a subdued and broken regional power to further their own goals in the region.

Someone said Israel was on the "winning team" on here, which is so shortsighted and a gross misrepresentation of what Israel (and other countries) are after in this conflict.

Sure, Khamenei is killed. Lets celebrate (many of my Iranian friends are) but lets not forget what happened in Afghanistan, Libya, and Iraq after the celebrations died down.

You have potentially created an immense power vacuum in a county/region where 3 major powers are seeking further influence (Russia has always coveted Iran, China is a major buyer of Iranian Oil)
