It’s all JD’s fault now guys. I despise Mad Marg, but she’s right. It’s always someone else’s fault. Never Trump’s. JD, meet bus.

Spoiler!

For the news impaired...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...arabia-israel/

President Donald Trump launched Saturday's wide-ranging attack on Iran after a weeks-long lobbying effort by an unusual pair of U.S. allies in the Middle East - Israel and Saudi Arabia - according to four people familiar with the matter, as Israeli and U.S. forces teamed to topple Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei after nearly four decades in power.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made multiple private phone calls to Trump over the past month advocating a U.S. attack, despite his public support for a diplomatic solution, the four people said. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, continued his long-running public campaign for U.S strikes against what he views as an existential enemy of his country.

The combined effort helped lead Trump to order a massive aerial campaign against Iran's leadership and military, which in its initial hour led to the death of Khamenei and several other senior Iranian officials. The attack came despite U.S. intelligence assessments that Iran's forces were unlikely to pose an immediate threat to the U.S. mainland within the next decade. Saturday's attack on Iran was a break from decades of U.S. decision-making to hold back from a full-scale effort to depose the regime of a country of more than 90 million people. It also marked a stark shift from Trump's own previous military forays, which until now have been far narrower in scope.

It's a two dose vaccine that does kinda kick your ass for a couple days. I had the first one, a few weeks ago. Sucked. But worth it.
My partner's Mom is in the middle of shingles, almost 80 years old now, very healthy outside of this but it's absolutely destroying her. It's been four weeks now and starting to subside finally. She's stubborn as hell when it comes to pain medications as well.

I'm sorry to hear that. Nobody should have to endure that. I should probably go get get my shot in the near future.

You are correct. The second was truly awful, and well worth it.

I got those a couple of years ago and don't remember any sort of ill effects. Maybe I blocked it out, but I definitely remember getting a couple of hours of issues from the Covid shot and not the Shingrix one.

Or one of the seven, like Mammon or Beelzebub.

Seems pretty clear that Israel forced the US' hand. Rubio said as much yesterday. It's also very clear that Israel has a massive (this is understating it) influence on US foreign policy.

Paraphrasing - "we had to attack Iran first, because Israel going was going to attack them, and then Iran was going to retaliate"

Shingles sucks. I got it after I had surgery (apparently can be triggered by stressful events) and I couldn't even have a fan on, the air moving on my skin hurt. And I couldn't take NSAIDs and Tylenol barely helped. Eventually they gave me a nerve blocker to help with the pain though I was already on the downward side by then. Fortunately no long term impacts.

If you're 50+, definitely get vaccinated ASAP. I procrastinated and regretted it.

Yeah, I got shingles last year and it was absolutely wild how I underestimated the acute pain/ total body discomfort that comes with it. It is horrific.
I certainly hope it is the case that beelzebub has shingles.

I'm torn. Do I want him to have a painful, debilitating condition like Shingles or something that will cause him to die quickly, with little suffering. It's a quandary.

I know someone who started getting shingles in their early 30s. It's more common in older people just because of how the virus normally adapts in the human body and how the immune system changes when you get older, but some unlucky people get it sooner.

Fun fact, if you get shingles you have to wait a year to get the vaccine. And then if you get another flare up after the first shot, you need to wait another year until you get the second shot. At this point I have a reminder in my phone and I'm just trying to get through the next few months to get to my second shot. I will say the flare up after the first shot was definitely mitigated somewhat.

Freakin' vaccine! Here I've been going to old people shingles parties listing to dull stories and rubbing ointment on their sores in an attempt to get immunity, and you tell me there is a vaccine?
