I was never a huge fan of the Hanifin - Andersson pairing with Calgary. I thought Andresson played better with Gio, Weegar, and Bahl during his time here, while Hanifin looked great paired with Tanev.

They're a decent pairing for Vegas as well, but they aren't that great at shutting down the opposition's top lines. They don't make life nearly tough enough on the opposing forwards at the front of the net. They also didn't get that many bounces go their way so far.

I'm actually having a hard time seeing Andersson re-signing in Vegas if things continue to go this way, which would be perfect karma after the Hanifin trade. I'm cheering for Vegas to fall in the standing as much as possible so hopefully we get a pick in the 16-18 range, and can go after Novotny.

I’m not sure that we didn’t get the best defensemen in the deal

Not wrong, Whitecloud has the same amount of points, better +/- and plays more minutes.

Watching Whitecloud in the shootout, he had his arm around Bahl in a nothing game. Seems like a great teammate.

On a supposedly worse team.

Not too far, Vegas needs to stay ahead of the Oilers so they miss the playoffs.

He'll bounce back.. that has to be a huge adjustment on a guy.

Weird pull but, Vegas current management reminds me of how the New York Rangers operated before the salary cap. When they were getting every UFA on the market because they could, and ended up a worse team than the sum of their parts. No team identity just a bunch of mercenaries who all complained when the other guy was on PP1 and not them.

Heard there's buyers remorse on both andersson and hanifin.

Good!

After both players (Rasmus less so) kind of shoehorned us into dealing with Vegas, i couldn't be happier that the deals aren't working out for them. I hope the team drops so that those picks improve and make it more painful.

Also I'd happily take Rasmus back in the summer for 6 years if he doesnt find 8 elsewhere. His heart is obviously in yyc.

Ffff Vegas.

I find it very interesting that he still hasn’t signed an extension in Vegas. I think a lot of people expected it to be done by now.

Would be beautiful if they miss the playoffs, but Andersson will get at least 8x7 somewhere.

Vegas is always sneaky this way. "There is not back room talk. See, we don't even sign these incoming guys for a long time."

I am sure that - unless Andersson's performance takes a serious nosedive to the point that it makes them think twice - he will be extended eventually.
