Oil Kings have hit a bit of a skid of late and they are also battling injuries to key players as well. I don't think the Tigers will catch PA for top seed in the East, but they look pretty good for seed #2.

Bryce Pickford scores the OT winner as the Tigers sweep the weekend series with the Hurricanes with a 4-3 win in the Hat tonight.

Woo was given a match penalty, probably a suspension coming.

Tigers are without three of their regular defensemen tonight versus the Oil Kings. Jonas Woo is out in addition to the two Finns.

Just a bonkers game in Edmonton tonight and the Tigers for the 2nd time in a week put a 10-spot on the board.
Edit: Technically, 8 days. Noah Davidson with his first career hat trick.

Insane. Tigers were down 6-4 and score 6 unanswered.

Another close game between the Tigers and Hitmen tonight as Josh Van Mulligen ties it late in the 3rd period and sets the stage for Bryce Pickford to score the OT winner.

The Hitmen played well but MH really controlled the game for most of the night.

Are the Hitmen down any key players right now?
Tigers are missing three of their top 4 Dmen and played two forwards on D last night. Makes beating a good team like the Hitmen in their own barn even more impressive.
Rematch in the Hat tonight.
Tigers have shaved the PA lead for 1st place down to 4 points. Running out of runway to catch them though.

I know you guys are eastern conference guys but an update from the west, rockets are actually gelling now and I think are probably the 2nd best team in the west in this moment. I dont know that they will have a deep run necessarily but they have a chance, they are starting to look like a different team from the disjointed one before Xmas. I think their top line of chihar iginla and wetsch can go up against anybody in the league
Ive been pretty hard on Tij since he came here and wasnt a proponent of the flames drafting him but he seems to be sticking at center and going to the traffic areas now. Looks a lot more driven since WJs.
Also Everett are an absolute machine right now and still by far the #1. And pray to God you dont have to watch penticton play for more than 10 minutes these playoffs. Everyone is celebrating them winning as an expansion team, and you have to give credit to the coaches but they are clogging the neutral zone like its the 90s. Just a terrible team to watch from an entertainment standpoint. maybe they play more exciting hockey at home or god help their season ticket holders. Someone needs to kill it with fire before it gets us all.

They are still not amazing like the last couple really good teams we have seen here in past but they'll be competitive now and shouldn't get blown out at the mem cup. I think they will win a playoff round. Have a good 2nd round that will be close with another solid tean like pg and get beat solidly by Everett if they make round 3

Pleased to see the Rockets are competitive and playing some pretty good hockey down the stretch, the last thing I wanted to see was a repeat of the Blades being a very poor team when they hosted the Memorial Cup back in 2013.

Not me. I knew they would be bringing in a ton of players through the season, but I was still really hoping they'd get trounced by double digits in every game at the Memorial Cup.
I'm admittedly bitter though, as my family had been billeting Tigers for many seasons and hosting the Memorial Cup in Med Hat would have been an incredible experience on it's own, never mind having players from the host team living in your house as they tried to win it all in front of the home crowd.

Don't get me wrong, I still think they awarded the Memorial Cup to the wrong team/city. Just from a competitive perspective, it's good to see that the Rockets have gotten their act together.

Like I said a while back, PA and MH are in a tier above both Edmonton and Calgary. I still think MH is the best team in the conference.
