Calgary is flush with prospect/depth wingers, defense and goalies.

At this point, a million picks is a waste, and you need impact picks (1sts and 2nds), high risk/reward players and high floor #### disturbers. Along with that elusive 1C.

All of the little guys just muddy the waters. Go big or go home time.

There are impact players to be found in the middle and late rounds. Our young #1 goalie is one. You have to be very lucky, in addition to having a good scouting team. But one of the ways to change those long odds, is to simply have a quantity of picks.

Two more years of 10+ picks, and we're going to be assigning players to some pretty weird ass leagues.

You only have so much room/resources/need to develop players too.

If true I’m glad he had the game he did. Go out on a high note.

I can’t help but think the rumours around Lomberg are just media creating drama. Lomberg has been healthy scratched on a bad Flames team and barely played at all on Florida’s cup run. I doubt there are any serious offers and we’re all wasting our time talking about it.

Kadri is still a very compelling add to any contender. Did he have an amazing year last year? Yes.
Well this year he is shooting at 7.5%, his historic average is 11%. If he was shooting at 11% he would be on pace for 26 goals, eg 68 points this year. He had 67 last year. Dude is not slowing down

Probably not because each team has a limit of 50 contracts so there are only a maximum of 50 players you can send to any league. Those leagues are usually NHL (23) AHL, some ECHL and the CHL. The fact that most CHL drafted players in the future will likely go NCAA means that you probably have even more time to make your decisions than in the past. The correct play right now is to get as many 10+ draft years as you can.

He’s not a noticeably different player than he was on a cup-winning team two years ago. The playoffs are different. Teams need toughness, playoff experience, and especially depth for injuries. It’s not creating drama either, it’s discussing a pending UFA on a rebuilding team. Speculation about Lombo being moved has been happened here for months.
