I dont want the grease pigs anywhere near a lottery.

Ritchie Regehr would have been a good one if not for concussions.
I preferred him to Gio at the time.

I feel like the big one is going to be L.A. Deciding between Petterson and Kadri.

Peetee has the bounce back potential that he will likely won't achieve in Vancouver.

Kadri has the sustained quality that we've never ever seen drop here in Calgary.

Fiala is out. Panarin is in. Kopitar will retire. What next? If they want to risk everything then the Vancouver trade makes sense. If they want to buff the current team then the Kadri trade make sense. Hot garbage, but interesting none the less.

I thought Ritchie gave too much in the corners. He was a good player, but I don't think he was made for the NHL

Lol why wouldn't he be... they won the cup with Kadri as their 2C.

Tried and true isn't quite what they're looking for?

Wonder if Kings will panic trade for Kadri after losing to the Knights and Oilers back to back nights in Panarin's first two games as a king

Hope so but they should just throw in the towel...Vegas was missing half their team last night and the Oilers are the Oilers

They’re not throwing in the towel - it’s Kopitar’s last year and they just acquired Panarin.

They’re all in, baby.

Prospects of interest if we're dealing with the Kings:

C/LW Jimmy Lombardi (6'0",187): Really liked this kid in last year's draft for the Flames, but the Kings got him in the 4th-round. Good all-around player with speed, and a bit of jam. He looked more like a pure playmaker last year, but he's decided to be a goal-scorer now, with 31 tallies. 63 points in 56 games with Flint (OHL).

RD Henry Brzustewicz (6'2",205lbs): Since the January 8th trade deadline, with the London Knights selling off defensemen Jared Woolley and Julian Brown, Bru has amassed 23 points in his last 17 points, and now leads the team in scoring, with 43 points in 48 games. He's a notch or two below his brother in terms of offensive awareness, but he's bigger, meaner, more physical, faster, and more impactful defensively. Another player I was a huge fan of last year.

LD Jared Woolley (6'5",216lbs): Speak of the devil! Kings took him in the 6th-round of the 2024 draft, he's a big, physical, two-way D who plays both sides of the puck in Junior, but he projects to more of a bottom-three shutdown guy in the show, if he works on his skating.

C Glenn Gawdin (6'1",192lbs): Just Jokin'!!!

LW Vojtech Cihar (6'1",181lbs): Ultra-competitive forward plays an all-around, two-way game with grit and physicality. He signed with the Rockets earlier this season (18 points in 21 games), but was a star at the WJC, finishing 4th in scoring with 12 points in 7 games.

C/LW Francesco Pinelli (6'1",185lbs): I've always been a fan (Kings got him in the 2nd-round of the 2021 Draft), but he's in his third-year in the AHL, sporting 25 points in 45 games. He's a good skater with energy and pace, likes the physical game, and has elevated hockey-sense. Looks like more of a bottom-sixer at this point, but he did have 90 points in his last year of junior.

D Will Sharpe (6'1",198lbs): Yet another player I really liked from last year's draft, the Kings took him in the 7th-round. He had 44 points in 66 games last year (28 in 35 with Lethbridge), but he has struggled to put up points this season, with 23 points in 48 games. Sharpe is a good all-around player, a quality puck-mover, and can play a physical game. He seems to have trouble putting it all together on a nightly basis.

LW Kristian Epperson (6'0",185lbs): I was a big fan of his last year (Kings took him in the third-round), but I was also a fan the year prior. If you couldn't already tell, I really liked the Kings' 2025 draft. Epperson is a gritty sparkplug, relentlessly physical and mean, and a good two-way force- kind of reminds me of a poor-man's Sam Bennett. 16 points in 33 NCAA so far this season.

RW/C Koehn Ziemmer (6'1",205lbs): Third-rounder from 2023 has had injury problems throughout his young career, and has always been plagued by sub-par skating, but he's a high-skill power-forward with an NHL-shot and finishing skills in-tight. Highly physical, and smart. I was a fan of his in 2023, and I still like him.

RD Caeden Herrington (6'2",205lbs): Yet another player I liked from the 2025 Draft-class (4th-rounder as an overager), Herrington is a mean, physical two-way puck-mover who has had a disappointing season with the U of Vermont, with only 8 points in 30 games- but he was always going to have a longer runway.

LD Jakub Dvorak (6'5",203lbs): Taken in the 2nd-round of the 2023 Draft, he's kinda like the Kings' version of Yan Kuznetsov. He's big and mobile, defensively sound, but perhaps more physical than Kuz.

C/W Kaleb Lawrence (6'7",229lbs): He's 23 years old, taken in the 2022 draft in the 7th-round. He has been limited to 13 games with the Reign this season (3 points), and had 8 points in 25 games last season. Obviously won't be a top-liner, and has to work on his mobility, but he's had some encouraging moments as a junior (5 goals and 9 points in the 2024 OHL Playoffs with London), and is a hard-working, physical defensive player.

G Carter George (6'1",183lbs): We don't need goalies, but the Kings have been rumored to be dangling him as trade bait.

Friedman the 32TP:

What are they going to do with Whitecloud?
Another team told Friedman that they heard Whitecloud is not in a hurry to get out of Calgary.
He isn't someone that shows up and says "Nope. This isn't for me and can I go somewhere else?"
That doesn't mean he doesn't get traded.
Flames are happy to have players that are happy to be in Calgary and they are not motivated to move him.
If they get a great offer. Look out.
Whitecloud has indicated that he is happy to stay so they aren't saying they have to trade this guy.

The biggest challenge for the Flames, is all their guys have competition.

Kadri: people love the player, not crazy about the term, and there are other centers.
Trocheck. ROR are available

People like Coleman and Weegar but there are other players around them.

Conroy has shown he is not afraid to be patient.
If you look at some of his deals to get younger, when he has had leverage to wait, he has done a pretty good job of using that.

Mentally preparing for an underwhelming trade deadline and not picking in the top 5.
