We’ve started watching the Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Really enjoying it so far. Finished season throughout this week and are 1 episode into season 2.
One year at Stache Bash, a band covered the outro of WKRP
Couldn’t tell what the hell they were singing either
Full marks
The closing theme, "WKRP In Cincinnati End Credits", was a hard rock number composed and performed by Jim Ellis, an Atlanta musician who recorded some of the incidental music for the show. According to people who attended the recording sessions, Ellis didn't yet have lyrics for the closing theme, so he sang nonsense words to give an idea of how it would sound. Wilson decided to use the words anyway, since he felt that it would be funny to use lyrics that were deliberately gibberish, as a satire on the incomprehensibility of many rock songs. Also, because CBS always had an announcer talking over the closing credits, Wilson knew that no one would actually hear the closing theme lyrics anyway. [last.fm]

I finished season 1 of Hijack and I must say it had so much going for it - an interesting premise, solid production, good acting, I think the direction and pace was good as well. All of it equates to what should have been a home run series, if it wasn't for the terrible writing.
It reminded me of a Taylor Sheridan series where the script is full of these poorly thought out moments that scream "I think my audience is an idiot so I get to fill this script with garbage anytime I need to build tension".
It should have been an 8/10 but the writing gets it a 6.5/10.

I won't spoiler it, but the show really trailed off IMO

Well, we finished up Umbrella Academy, and I would agree that it definitely falls off on the way to the end. I think they could have done a better job with the ending, but considering it was essentially "cancelled", they were proably scrambling a bit to finish the show in 6 episodes instead of the full season.
Couple things I will say is that I laughed pretty consitently throughout the series, and the music throughout the show was stellar.
We finished PONIES last night.
No idea where to eatch in Canada, it is Peacock in USA.
It was fun. I enjoyed it. Didn't take itself too seriously.
Will watch S2, assuming it's renewed - which I expect.

It's on Showcase/Stack in Canada. They're releasing one episode per week rather than all at once like Peacock did. It's airing Thursday nights and tonight is episode 5 of 8.

Just caught up on The Night Manager S2. Doesn’t quite live up to the original but still very engaging and sets up what could be a great trilogy.
I will need to replace it on my list of top 5 single season limited series. Current have Band of Brothers, Chernobyl, Watchmen, and The Queens Gambit. I’m leaning towards Under The Banner of Heaven. Any other recommendations?

I feel like True Detective S1 has to be on that list. BoB, Chernobyl and Watchmen definitely make my list as well.
Not sure about the 5th slot. Mare of Eastown, John Adams, White Lotus S1?
Not sure if white Lotus or true detective but being anthologies they’re almost like limited series.
