He probably will but it may take some time for him to feel 100%. Likely a similar timeline to Kane who said it took over a year to feel normal again.

Makes sense Coleman would want to play and get back up to game speed for the new team even if he knows he’s getting traded he’s been out a while

I personally would rather Kadri get traded this season. If he has finishes here with a bad season, I don't think he can be traded next season quite honestly. I think too many GMs will just assume that father time caught Kadri. I don't think Kadri will be very motivated to prove doubters wrong on the Flames either, given that there are at least murmurs out there that Kadri prefers to leave this season.
I do think it will take close to the deadline to move him, however. Trocheck, O'Reilly.. maybe even Zibanejad will be moved. I think teams will be prioritizing a name or two on that list first, and have Kadri as a plan B or C option. Hopefully I am wrong, but that's how I see it at the moment.

Kadri wanting to get moved to another time sooner rather than later might end up helping his NTC situation for the Flames. If the teams from his okay list can't work out a desirable return for Conroy, knowing that Kadri wants to compete this season may convince Kadri to lift the trade restriction to another team that has actually met Conroy's ask in a return. It would come down to Conroy saying to Kadri that we're going to look at options in the summer instead since the returns right now aren't there, except for this one team that you've mentioned you won't go to, unless....

pure speculation I haven't heard this but it stands to reason that an other team might want to be certain Coleman is actually good to go.
Especially with some new teams in the mix I'm sure his injury status has come up
