Not really for this thread, but I am curious if we will see more CHL players re-enter the draft now? The reasoning, I assume, that you seldom saw CHL re-enter was because they had no where to play (at a high level) to continue development. I assume they could now jump to NCAA. Will be interesting

That's one out of 47… and he hasn't actually made the NHL yet.
Of the other 46 players the Calgary Flames have drafted in the 5th round, two have played 300 NHL games or more: Micheal Ferland and Travis Moen. At that, Moen never signed a contract with the Flames.
A 5th-round pick is a long, long shot to turn into an NHLer.

Unfortunately Wyttenback gave up the puck on a PP that lead to the first of two empty net goals in a 7-4 loss. Tried to get a shot through from the point but was blocked and immediately sent down the ice into the empty net.

He is now 2nd in the NCAA in goals, and is 1st in assists - no one-trick-pony here

What’s your point? Don’t get excited about a prospect? Or he’s no good? Confused what you’re implying.

Weak. 2nd. What pick could we get if we trade him?

Probably an even longer shot to find your starting goalie in the 7th round but hey!

My point is that a possible return of a 5th-round pick is nothing to get worked up about. There are more important things than whether Lomberg does or does not get traded for a late pick that has less than a 10% chance of amounting to anything.

BTW, 3rd in goals is an undrafted senior named Felix Trudeau. I think the Flames should sign him to an AHL contract but only if he agrees to put his initial on the jersey. Imagine how many F. Trudeau jerseys the Wranglers would sell.
