Canada dominated sure, but they should have had way more high danger chances imo. They need to start bringing some different style players - as much fun as it was to watch Mackinnon, Celebrini and McDavid try to break through the full collapse defense over and over I would have also enjoyed Bedard scoring from the top of the circle or Schaefer walking the line. It really seemed like the entire plan was to just rely on McDavid and Mackinnon to score all the goals.

He won it for them. You can’t pick a few random cases in the game and say what if or it’s not because of him

Dude, Mackinnon wasn't picking a spot. He just shot wide on a gaping net. And the puck that went past Hellebuyck and off a defenceman's chest wasn't either.
Frankly, Canada didn't do much to make Hellebuyck's life harder. Their pass across plays didn't work well at all - usually broken up. People complain about no shooters. I think their passing was what was off.

If Morrisey plays the D probably evens right out.

Werenski, Hughes, Sanderson, McAvoy, Faber, Hanifin. That's a way more mobile defense with way better offensive instincts than guys like Sanheim, Parayko, Doughty.

They didn't look all that mobile as they were getting caved in all game
goalie stole it and some breaks....how she goes
Avs are the best team in the NHL...they lose to the Flyers ect. from time to time in a single game

I saw a lot of pucks bouncing over sticks for the men and women’s games and wondered about the ice quality. It affects both teams of course but obviously affects the passing game.
One change that I would like to see is Canada using the extra roster spots to get younger players the experience. They can suit up for the early games and get ice time and watch as the games get more intense. Or they can just watch to get the experience.
Even with Crosby and Morrissey going down, you put the younger guys on the bench for the experience so that they are ready for next time.
Celebrini will be better for the experience.
And young players bring a level of excitement and energy.
Wouldn’t have changed the outcome, but it lays the foundation for next time.

They didn't do much for all this mobility.

having 6 mobile defensemen isn't the best way to build a group, IMO, too one-dimensional

Yzerman also played in a non-cap era and had a loaded team.

In comparison Binnington had a GSAA of 0.48.
He was good enough for the team to win, but he wasn't spectacular. I don't think he deserves to be blamed.

That's the thing. He was average - which is typically good enough but not every year. But if they get good/great or elite goaltending, they win the tournament.
Canadians are weird are goaltending. A big portion of the forwards and defense taken played pretty average too and they're taking heat. But Canadians in general seem fine with merely getting average goaltending when they don't accept that on the rest of the team.
Binnington was fine. Except fine shouldn't be good enough for Team Canada.

The legend of Steve Y learning to play D and being the catalyst for their Stanley Cups is one of the funniest “legends” in hockey
Detroit loaded up with defecting Russians and scouted Sweden earlier then most to find Lindstrom
They also spent more then just about every team
That’s why they were a dynasty - not because Stevie Y backchecked a few more times at 32 years old when he was the 3rd or 4th best player on the team
