I can't wait for Artemis 1 launch, i believe they are going to try again in November, i sure hope they finally worked out the bugs and are ready this time. This is exactly why you "fly mannequins" to the moon 1st. There's a million components in a rocket like this, so many systems and mechanisms that can fail.
imo Saying it was fake is a slap in the face to the families of the brave men that were burned alive during that capsule test from the oxygen leak that ignited.
Move Airdrie in its entirety to the Moon. The ability to maintain a twenty minute commute to downtown Calgary would make the area the most significant spaceport on the planet.
Is this the right thread? The first flight around the Moon with the 4 person crew has been pushed again, and they need to wheel the SLS back to the Vehicle Assembly Building. Will this thing ever go? Now targeting "no earlier than April" for Artemis II.

My boss booked his stay and flights there to take his autistic kid there. Goddamn. Fata, I was going to show him these numbers I've cooked up for this AFE. This is gonna go bad. I am cooked.

Like the OP, the moon landing is also my favorite conspiracy theory. Given the technology of the day, it’s close to beyond belief that it was accomplished. In my opinion, the greatest feat in human history.
I think so.
Polynesians settling the vast Pacific is also an amazing feat.
Another issue is that the world, generally, isn't quite as willy nilly with killing astronauts as it used to be. The USA isn't going to have another Challenger disaster without first testing if the new tech is safe.

I mean, they already did have another Challenger disaster...The Columbia disaster.

Exactly....probably not looking for another one. Especially one that would have involved an untested spacecraft and/or technology.
The idea that Nasa should just be able to easily launch someone onto the moon now, because they did it in the 60s, is kind of ridiculous. We aren't using the same tech as they did in the 1960s and many many things can go wrong during a moon launch. NASA is definitely going to run a test launch before using live people.
