Tidal has better sound quality but you won't notice it without the proper gear. I listen to at least one podcast a day so having it all in one app with Spotify is pretty convenient. I've also found their recommendations very handy, as using years of my data allows the algorithm to work well.

It's not great for the artists, but meh, the convenience and access for $14 per month is unbeatable and they also have offers pretty often if you churn through different emails.

Not realizing that I had hard packed snow in the rims of my car until I hit Stoney and it suddenly felt like I was driving on square wheels GMG, that was not a fun drive even for only a couple of exits. Went straight to a car wash to blast it out, and saw several dudes in the bay going full-ham washing their cars with the foam brush and everything. Not exactly a gear grinder, more a gear confuser, what the hell are they accomplishing? Their clean cars lasted exactly until they exited the wash bay and into the half-foot of slushy snow directly outside the exit, do some people just enjoy wasting time and money?

Pretty much. It got integrated with other social platforms, and others have that now too, but it's just too late. When you're sharing or getting shared new music, it's almost always in the form of a Spotify link.

Also now Spotify "knows" my taste in music. If I switched I'd have to train something new on what I like.

I don’t know anything about Spotify, but the Apple bundle came with music. It’s pretty decent and can share it with everyone in the family.

That's something I haven't heard in ages! Flashbacks.

We used to be on Spotify but are now on Apple Music. The biggest thing I miss (and I'm sure there might be a workaround for this, but I haven't see any in my limited searches) is being able to omit my kids playlists from my algorithm.

Are you paying the family rate? If so, set up separate profiles, that’s what I did.

First time? I've had a couple, probably due for another. They always ask if I want to watch the procedure on the screen. "No, I'm good, knock me out please!" You will need someone to drive you home.

For sure the worst part is the prep, as you're finding out. Like troutman says, take the meds, you'll wake up and they'll say all clear

Yes first time. They didn’t even ask if I wanted to stay awake… just told me I’m gonna need someone to drive me home.

I wasn’t mentally prepared to not really eat for this long. I’m a big snacker…

On the topic of Music. I switched to Qobuz a couple of years ago. I buy records and CD's. I like to have the physical media for albums I love. They don't have great playlists, but I enjoy listening to albums so that's what I download. Qobuz is high quality like Tidal. I have an pretty decent stereos at home and in my car, so I like to take advantage of them.

They didn't fully knock me out, but I have zero recollection of it. I remember being in a bed waiting to go in, and then being back there. I don't remember anything else. I asked the nurse if I was awake at all and she said yes. Weird.

I had someone picking me up, but i wandered out into traffic and tried to get in their car while they weren't parked.

So yeah - it can knock you for a loop.

oh wow - my wife had to 'come and get me' to take me home. i wasn't allowed to leave on my own.

i still laugh at the first colonoscopy i had - the doc was a super nice guy and to 'break the ice' asked me if we knew each other. i didn't recognize him so i asked if he either plays hockey or is involved in live music in kelowna and he said 'no' to both... then he hit me with the punch line... well don't worry chris, we're going to get to know each other really well in the next couple of minutes - ha! ha!

Our theory is I just got up and left. I may not have been properly signed out. I was really out of it.

If it matters to some, from purely a sound quality (music) standpoint, Qobuz may have it over Tidal which is my main priority since I'm an audiophile (an overly neurotic obsession).

The drug they use is actually a derivative of Fentanyl. Very strange sensation if you've never experienced it. Quite different from being under general anesthesia.

Other than helping relax me I didn't notice much of any other sensation. But it sure helps with the procedure. As far as the prep goes I found (I've have two performed now) that the diet change was harder than the actual prep itself (drinking the stuff). That part was pretty non eventful as far as I was concerned.

This really grinds my gears. We want unlimited music but don't want to pay artists to make it. Unless you're a big name you get almost nothing from streaming. You need to rely on merch, sites like Bandcamp, or services like Patreon to make it possible to live off your work.

Don't complain when AI slop music floods all the streaming services. It's what we deserve for acting like this.
