Team USA canooldalling up to Trump is the same as Ovechkin with Putin. At least in Ovenchkin's defense he hasn't been seen with Vlad since the invasion began. It's a bad look for players like Hughes and Boldy being in the same room with Trump while Minneapolis is falling apart ... even worse players like Matthews, Brady, and Hellebucyk. They're going to lose much of their fanbase north of the border...

They could easily make an excuse to not attend tomorrow, especially with games being played on Wednesday. I don't believe any players from Canada or Sweden missed games after the Olympics ended when they won.

Then there's Matthew Tkachuk. I'd say he's pretty dead to all fans in Calgary. I wouldn't even want to see him honored at this point. At this point only the separatist traitors will stick with him.

1) Sometimes criticism, even harsh criticism, is completely warranted and justified. For example, the criticism Trump and Tkachuk are getting here.

2) Some things in life are larger and more important than sports.

You are actually wrong with that last statement. I can separate politics from the hockey player. I don't think most hockey players are good people, but I don't watch to see their views.

I don't like Tkachuk's political views, but he has saved us from 2 Oilers cups. I can never hate Tkachuk the player after that. He isn't dead to me or many other Flames fans.

Completely illogical if you watched what Tkachuk did while in Calgary, respected the GM enough to prevent a Johnny like circus that royally ####ed the club, and is the most successful player in hockey in the last three years with two cups and a gold, but you are entitled to your opinion.
