Dosen't happen if that ####ing loses McDavid doesn't try 1 vs 3 . Mcdavid stops up and waits for teammates to catch up. . Dude we get it your the fastest player slowndown and play at a rate you can use your teammates. Even if Makar retreated early having McDavid behind the net still in bad.

If you told me Matthews and both Tkachuks were out hurt I’d have believed you. All 3 were completely invisible. The Americans had two players, Hughes and Helly.
Make that 3 players, both Hughes brothers and Helle.
I thought Canada played a terrific game. They controlled the pace, they gave up limited chances against. They had high scoring opportunities. They had timely saves.
Things like hitting the post on an open net and having a goalie make a desperation stick save on an otherwise open net happen from time to time and often enough. It's just unique to have both occur in the same game. But on the flip side, U.S. hit a crossbar then a post on the same shot themselves.
I do agree McDavid was selfish on overtime. But many were saying earlier in the game he passes too much, or he skates up and curls too much. Some were angry he is supposed to be the best player in the world so he needs to make something happen. Really, unless he scored or made some eye dropping play to set up the game winner, he was doomed to fail in the eyes of many regardless.
You don't always win just because you're the better displayed team that day. And 3 on 3 much like penalty shots is a tough way to decide big games but these rules and variations have always been part of international play. Some days it goes in your favor, other days it doesn't. That's why they play the games.
I'm happy with the effort and felt for the most part they played strong as a team. Certainly you can dissect and critique certain players and be justified in doing so, but overall they played hard and simply didn't get rewarded for it.

Hes in ovechkin territory in losing. McDavid may get a cup but at least ovechkin is the best goal scorer ever McDavid has a 1/3 overall total vs his record. Hes not even close nor will he be to the assist record.

Just pointing out Mcdavids career with all that talent is a joke because the media inflated it to be " the best player in the world" yet Crosby is still playing with a much better career and even his line mate nate has a cup and looks poised this year to win a second .

The only people who've ever shown/sent me AI videos are the simplest, dullest human beings I've ever encountered. Literally dripping drool off their face and they giggle at some slop AI video made by some untalented schlub on tiktok.

For what it's worth, I don't feel McDavid is the best player either. I would argue he's the best offensive player but certainly not the most complete. It seems many who have that offensive gift come into the league and bring huge numbers but need to learn to balance that with a complete game at this level to find team success over individual success. Some of them eventually figure it out and it's understandable they would need time to do so. Or they re-invent their game at the detriment of personal stats to become more complete to find success. I don't know if McDavid will ever adopt that.
