I can only look back at today's game and understand that Nathan MacKinnon had the game on his stick and couldn't put it away. That was the back breaker or TSN turning point in today's game. That one moment. The Americans played hang on the entire game and it's only fitting that the team hanging on finishes things in 3 on 3 after a turn over on a 3 on 1 rush.

Tough loss. Canada controlled the game. They lost discipline in OT. Hellebuyck was a difference maker.

Staples agrees that 3-3 OT in a game like this is terrible, but likes it for NHL regular season games.

That's not a bad take, I like it for regular season too.
