Being a premier league fan from BC has me built for this start time. I'll be ready to go, jersey on, beer in hand.

Let's go Canada!!!

Getting up and going to the pub at 5 am is what makes the Olympics fun! Did it in 2014, happy to do it again. Except the extra 12 years on the body might make recovering afterwards less fun.

I hate that it’s early 8am here in Toronto, but have a table reserved at a nearby establishment to watch the game as a family.

Can’t recall the last time I’ve been drinking as early as 8am. Perhaps pancake keggers during my undergrad years at university.

Can’t wait, should be great!

It doesn't have to be the last event though. Paris is the same time zone and they put men's basketball gold game at 9:30pm local (3:30 ET/1:30 MT) on the Saturday.

NHL should have demanded this

Ya know, you don't have to drink at 6 am on a Sunday morning. You could just watch the game and have a cup of coffee.

Just a suggestion.

If Im making the effort to get up at 4:30 AM on a Sunday, head out into -20 temperatures to eat breakfast in a pub....im definitely not just drinking coffee.

How many more times are you going to get to go out and drink before 7 in your life? Sieze the opportunity.

Sounds like a perfect occasion for a couple of Irish coffees.

Love hearing all the people getting up early, having some drinks and watching the game. I’ll most likely be up with my one year old. Not quite the same as morning beers. Go Canada!

Media, politicians, and some players will try to hype this up for their own reasons.

As I age, it’s just a game, but I totally understand the sentiment and why it feels like more than 2 teams playing for gold at the Olympics.

With that being said, I totally want Canada to have this in hand by the end of the second.

I think that the American team will try to win and that will open up the ice for Canada. That’s where McDavid can shine.

For this game, it’s all about the logo on the front and not the name on the back.

I think Canada has some injuries, but that won’t stop the team.

I also think that one of the Tkachuks gets tossed and Wilson, Bennett, or Marchand goes with him.

Canada to win 5-2.

Enjoy the game everyone!
