Did they at least negotiate some kind of revenue agreement with the Olympics this time around? I remember that being a point of contention in the past when players weren't allowed to go.
On the other side of it, revenue on merch must go through the roof. Especially with the stars, and the guys that are stars in other countries, but high end journeymen here.

Is it actually a higher number of injuries than usual? 7 out of 140 or so NHLers, over ~6 games.

Loving the olympics, but I’m excited for the lead up to the deadline and how much more Conroy can get as far as futures/draft capital.

Watching this elite talent you’re reminded how little of it the Flames have. It’s fun to dream on some young game changers coming in the next couple drafts.

The NHL has seen significantly more injuries than usual all season, and I've seen sources blaming it on the compressed schedule. On top of that, the players getting injured at the Olympics are the cream of the crop.

Is there data linking that to the revised schedule? Would make sense if there is a link.

I definitely don't think it's a reach to believe the compressed Olympic schedule has had a pretty significant impact on the injury till league wide this year.
