Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie is hilarious. Go support a Canadian comedy.
Yep, saw it last night. Fkn loved it. Great, great movie and exactly why I love going to the theater. I'm two movies in a row that aren't basic bitch marvel slop. I'd say this is kinda like FUBAR-style Canadiana. Hopefully becomes a classic. Very good and pony up to see it in theater instead of waiting for it to stream. Supporting releases like this is the best if we want good movies made.

I hate to hype it up because the casual movie goer might expect a big budget thing and funny is very relative, but I think it succeeds. The advertisements in 2008 and the damn Orbitz got me good.

I do want to hype it because unique story telling is what I expect out of my $18 ticket. I think it stand on its own as a great movie done well in spite of its low budget; not because it has a low budget and I'm not cutting it any slack just because it isn't a Hollywood production. It is better than most of the movies out there.
I'm with you, it was more enjoyable than half of the movies I've seen recently and I feel very good about spending my $10.99 (I have the yearly subscription).
But, it had zero Grogu, people might have a problem with that. : )

Watched The Warriors tonight, can't believe I've never seen it, despite many pop culture references to it- especially all the outlandish gang costumes. Enjoyed the hell out of it. The Baseball Furies are iconic.

I went to St. Benedict and a lot of kids from Sarcee ( thats what it was called at the time) went as the baseball furies for halloween. So cool.
Where would one watch the Warriors? I can never find. It was almost like Escape from New York. Same mood. I always think of that movie when I go to NYC.

I had some trouble finding it as well, but eventually found it on Prime Video. I've never seen Escape from New York, that might have to be next!
Uncut Gems: 9/10
####ing great. As one prominent reviewer put it, "it's the best worst time you'll have". Had to go back and finally see it after watching Marty Supreme. Similar tone and pacing. I was shook.
Send Help: 6/10
I'm a Sam Raimi fan, and this was a highly entertaining movie but I wouldn't call it a good movie. It really flip flopped in tone and I wasn't sure what it was trying to be. Random milking of projectile blood and mucus felt awkward, like it suited the Evil Dead franchise, but I'm not sure it fit here. Regardless, it was fun yet dumb. Bad CGI (like marginally better than sharknado at points). I did like the leads a lot.
Primate: 6/10
More dumb fun. At least it knew what it was trying to be. Had a gore scene that was executed hysterically. Having a pet chimp with nothing to defend yourself should it go rogue/mad is extraordinarily poor planning.
Assume you've seen Good Time too? If you liked MS and Uncut Gems, Good Time is nearly if not equally as good.

Watched The Life of Chuck last night. I haven't read the book, so I knew nothing of the story. But I really enjoyed the movie and found it entertaining, unique, and enjoyable.

Watched Uncut Gems last night. Sandler was stellar in it. Bit too much yelling throughout from seemingly every actor though, but fun movie from start to finish.
