I'll take a bow for calling out Suzuki. I'm sure my comments motivated him.

You're welcome.

I thought I wanted the Swedes to take out Wayne's team today, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe let's take the easier path to the final and dispatch the Americans.

Duthie's probably fine with it. He's not just a hockey guy like MacLean is. He's going to host the World Cup coverage this summer.

Not sure if he was on the ice today for any goals against?

But he's been the best player on the ice every game.

Hopefully after the World Cup this summer, Duthie would be open to joining? I'm sure Rogers would want to bring him in still.

You're a beauty Marner. Like somebody said earlier, some of these Canada players (all NHL all stars) seem to feel like they have to play second fiddle and support for the big line. Look at what Marner did on his own.

Canada outplayed them pretty badly. Shots and chances heavily in Canada's favor.

Canada could certainly tighten up though. Hopefully this game kicks then in the arse and wakes them up

The effort wasn't terrible, but if effort alone would win games there's no question Czechia takes that. Canada was looking surprisingly defeated before the Suzuki goal. Likely the pressure getting to them.

I think they'll likely be a lot better next two games.

I'm not sold on that... Canada steamrolled Czechia last week and they outshot them by a ton again. I think they had some bad luck and Czechia had their finest day.

I'm a little worried Sweden is going to knock out the USA and Canada will have them in the semi though, which will effectively become the gold medal game. I have zero worries that Canada will beat Slovakia or Switzerland.

That play by Suzuki is so goddamn good. 99.9% of players gift a change in possession with a simple dump-and-change. Suzuki instead with a tactical chip, textbook forecheck, wins possession, recycle the puck, GOAL. Great players aren't afraid to make great plays. Need more of that confidence from all on the roster in the next two games.

100% Marner's goal was unbelievable but Suzuki and Binnington dragged Canada there

I'm sure Bell matched and then some whatever Rogers was offering.

That Marner goal was pretty similar to his OT winner in 4 nations no? Great play.

I'd guess former smoker. Back when he was coming up in the 90s most journalists smoked.
