Would this be a bigger upset than 98?

Canada's has more shots, but they're weak, perimeter shots.
It looks like the Flames offence out there. Shockingly poor attacking from such a stacked roster.

Absolutely, there's no Hasek in net. This Czech team isn't nearly as good as the '98 squad.

Czech's have been playing with fire this full game. Holding back and collapsing in front of their net is hoping Canada doesn't snipe one. With this talent on Canada it's a really risky strategy but probably the right one for them. Amazing they scored that one. Suzuki missed the trailer and Stone couldn't keep up himself.

So leaving the more talented players at home was the answer?

I suppose. But that 98 team had goaltending that could not be questioned. So maybe not.

Plus Hasek was an absolute god iirc.

Maybe next Olympics they will actually take a starting goalie instead of the Blues backup.

Dumb as #### roster decisions

Is there something rotten with how Canadians act as fans? Why is this feeling so familiar?

I feel like I'm doing something wrong here.

Absolutely, losing a close game to prime Dominik Hasek in a shootout isn't anything to really be ashamed of honestly, as became even clearer when he dragged that Sabres team to game 6 of the SCF.

This is more like 2006.

One game knockouts provide upsets. No National Inquest required.

Scratching Sam Bennett may have been a bad idea.

Well, Doughty was incorrect too. Suzuki needed the trailer. But then the far guy is open. 3 on 2 and Palat made a good shot.

I go back to that first Czech goal with the brutal cross-ice pass (Toews?) - Sure you can do that vs. France, but that showed they weren't mentally here for a tough game.
