Yeah. The wailing and moaning is possibly quieted, for today anyway.

Before that Homan plays Italy tomorrow morning. While Korea plays Sweden. We'll know more after that.

Yeah, I think since they lose the tiebreak with USA and Switzerland there is no way for them to advance without winning that game. And the match against Italy doesn't seem like it matters except for seeding? Because even if they lose it if they beat Korea they take the tiebreaker so it's basically a win and you advance game. Be nice to avoid Sweden in the semis and if they beat both Korea and Italy they could squeek into the 3rd seed.

This hockey game is close... Czechia has looked pretty bad the whole tournament. Be great to see Denmark get a third and really make it interesting.

Big curling game coming up, Jacobs could knock out Mouat, the favorite coming in.

Canada needs to beat Italy to avoid any 3 way tie scenarios at 4 losses.

And that would be a given most of the year but this Olympic thing is a bugaboo for her.

That makes sense on the 3 way tie. The women seem to be getting their confidence going, though watching today they still missed a lot of shots it seemed like and maybe got a bit lucky. I'm just a total hack amateur curler that started only a few years ago who has never really watched it on tv but I'm amazed how much these top curlers still struggle with draw weight. As good as their takeouts and peels are, which is something as an amateur you don't see, I really don't see a lot of people in my league throw the rock straight through the house yet it seems to happen quite often here.

Also nobody's been perfect but the lady who is the third on Canada just really seems to be struggling to my eye, also I don't mean to be personal but she looks incredibly slight and unathletic and doesn't really seem to be a good sweeper either? I am sure she has had some crazy good curling events in the past to make it here though but seems a bit out of place on the eye test.

For me as someone who is new to the sport it's been really cool watching and seeing their technique and strategy though. Beer league level up haha.

Must be the pressure. Just saw Mouat miss an easy hit and roll. Canada up 8-5 about to eliminate the world champion.

Sweden off and running. Latvia so sloppy in their own zone. Looks like no upsets in the qualifying round

And Jacobs steals again in the ninth and they shake hands.

Yeah, those were not difficult shots normally for Mouat.

Again, you would have made a lot of money if you predicted Mouat not medalling in either event

So the Czech's won't start Vejmelka, and the Swedes are running with Markstrom (not even testing Wallstedt). These European programs refuse to change the established old guard and made their choices months ago. Ridiculous to not at least try the hot hands and see how they play. The odds of Markstrom stealing a game against the American team is very low.

I'm not sure playing Dostal over Vejmelka would be the established old guard.

But yeah Wallstedt probably should be playing over Markstrom base on play this season in the NHL.

Another gold for Norway in big air men's final. They are absolutely crushing in these Olympics.
