I would think most people are upset that ICE, currently, is murdering innocent people, kidnapping children, and imprisoning and deporting people without a trial (even those not guilty of any crime). Do you take issue with that?

Question as to whether the paid protesters delegitimize what they are protesting. I don’t think you can stop organizations from paying people to protest, can you? Or do you even want to?

Even if you prove that people are supporting impassioned leaders of protests, by furnishing them with basic needs, who cares?
I promise you with a massive degree of certainty, that if there is ever any evidence at all that someone in the US or Alberta is being paid to protest, they are being paid by the right wing nutter butter organizations that keep accusing people of being paid protestors (you remember when Musk was openly paying people to show up at Trump rallies and pledge their support in spite of campaign finance laws, I think that is the closest thing to something provable in this direction).
Every single time these guys make a ridiculous accusation, we should probably go beyond just ignoring it as I would have previously recommended, and instead wonder if it's an admission.

At this point whenever a Republican or one of their supporters accuses someone of anything suspect, whether criminal behaviour like pedophilia or questionable behaviour like paying protestors, you can be 80-90% sure the person throwing out the accusation is guilty of that exact thing.

No, he didn't. Joking about it diminishes that what he did was way ####ing worse. His ex wife was in court trying to get some support from this deadbeat pussbag, so he made up this story and paid some Doctor Fever mother####er to diagnose him with a brain worm. This gave him brain fog that "prevented him from being able to work and have an income", so she got shafted, killed herself, and then his brain fog magically cleared up. It was all a sham to avoid alimony.

Honestly I've mused on this before, and came to the same conclusion. There is no way to justify admiring or even worshipping someone like Donald Trump, but he does allow people who do, to let their hate for other people or groups to be out there instead of hiding it.
