Kesler? Ok you've got me there.
The fact that he boiled Iggy's blood should say enough.

For me it's Scott Stevens. His dirty head shot hits had a huge negative impact on the game. Who knows how good Lindros would have been. He ended careers of star players.

UPDATE: Bracket has been set with the randomizer, below you’ll find the matchups. Polls will be made later tonight.
The list is also in the 2nd post in case this gets buried. Also please review the list and make sure there’s no mistakes or players in there twice.

fascinating, some of these initial pairings barely get a rise out of me and others are throwing me into rage just by their existence

If there are any really close votes in round one I think we should have a couple wild cards sneak through. Hate to have someone gone in the first round because they matched up with say Kesler lol

James Neal for coming to the Flames v Adam Fox for not coming to the Flames is kinda funny.

Lemieux
Burrows
That's the biggest heavy weight tilt IMO. A good stylistic matchup in one of the dirtiest hitters, vs one of the biggest divers, and most punchable faces in the NHL.

Burrows for me - he had no redeeming value, whereas you had to give it to Lemieux as a playoff stud.

Same here, but Lemieux deserve to get out of the 1st round. He was a piece of work.

Burrows was always willing to take a bite out of the competition

Lemieux v Burrows? It’s a decision that’s a hair puller for sure.

I also wonder how the Draisaitl vs Fleury matchup will play out. Obnoxious opponent from your biggest rival vs a very well liked player of the flames who took a major turn as a heel post hockey career.

It was absolutely brutal and blatantly obvious slewfoot. No mention of course on the pro Habs CBC broadcast.
Morel was also the one that called the penalty in OT in Game 3 that series, and the ref on the wrap around against the Kings the next year that he waved off, and if I recall correctly the goal not called vs the Oilers in 1991 playoffs.

Sorry, didn't read all but i have always hated Chris Chelios. Not sure if he was mentioned.
Smug looking fu$%er, even though playing such a long career was impressive, it just seemed to give me more years to hate him....

Thanks for putting this together Bagger, brings some fun to the board during an otherwise boring time, especially for Flames talk!
I will say though there were a few brackets I didn't vote on because I'm too young to have seen either of the guys play. So if you're seeing some skewed numbers between brackets in this round it's probably other people following my method.

He got away with a million cross checks in the back.
