LA signs a couple of players who are unsigned with their teams, but are developing well in juniors.

Brenden McMorrow (LA prospect)
Classic pest and drafted do to work ethic and versatility. Made the US WJC roster. Plug and play player that could be a surprise in the AHL when he makes the jump next year.

Alexander Weiermair (Vegas prospect)
Was drafted for his 200ft game, but in his overage year has found a scoring touch. He moved from NCAA to the WHL, when he was placed bottom six, but thought that he had more to offer. Sits 10th in league scoring.

LA signs center Gabe Smith of the Utah Mammmoth.

The third center, who gets lost behind the big two center prospects Iginla and Desnoyers. Having a breakout D+1 season. Was considered a power 3C, with accent on the defensive side, but has picked the offensive up to ppg as a 19 year old. Flash in the pan as an overager, or a sustainable trend? I guess we find out in the AHL next year.

Cole O'Hara
Nashville Prospect - a RW that had a really big jump in his junior year in the NCAA and set some club records as well as votes for the Hobey Baker. Pretty solid transition to the AHL this year. Looking up.

Ryan Rucinski
Buffalo Prospect - USHL center for phenom Cooper Simpson. Going to go the NCAA route, but will be interesting to see how much of that lines success also belongs to Rucinski, who is 7th in league scoring. Risk is that he has not been signed to his ELC, yet.

Ludvig Lafton
Utah prospect - defenseman with decent defensive and offensive instincts. Led the Norway U18 team out of regulation and back into the WJC for next year. Seems like one of those players that will come out of nowhere. Did well at the Utah camp this year, so not afraid to come over the pond. Also a risk, has not signed his ELC.
