I’m surprised there hasn’t been a mention of Maxime Lapierre yet, the guys facial expressions would get under my skin. I couldn’t stand the dude.

Can we just ... not?
You know where this takes the next 50 posts. Not worth it.

Its relevent to the thread...no need for debate. He said it, I think Tkachuk will finish pretty high. Also, you quoted it to put it on this page.

Also we’re at 62 players currently. What I’ll likely do is create 2 separate polls and let them run until there’s 2 finalists (poll tab has a 32 value limit). At that point I’ll create a 3rd poll for the finals.

Take the top 10 from the first two polls for the final IMO.

I don't see Todd Bertuzzi on the master list, probably an oversight as I think he was mentioned

See I tried that with a different poll before and combined the 2 polls with 16 entrants. It ended up causing some confusion where people participated in the old polls and not the “proper” one. I was trying to avoid that issue again.

Makes sense...the worry is that the two worst end up in the same poll.

"Matthew Tkachuk might make the list for his political views" would probably get less of a response.

Gretzky is my most hated and has always been.
He was such a whiner and expected all this special treatment. He said he wanted fighting taken out of hockey, but he was responsible for more fights than any player in his era.
My wife made me go to his distillery in Ontario. I said I couldn't buy anything with Wayne Gretzky on it because I hated him. The guy working there was shocked. He said everyone loves Wayne. Not in Calgary I told him. He couldn't believe it.
His betrayal to Canada as the honourary captain last year and his support of Trump who threatens to make Canada the 51st state doesn't help.

Voting will largely depend on the age of the the voter. My generation will probably vote Kesler to win. (40 yo)

For me it’s McDrycycle. And I grew up in the Gretzky, Messier era.

Cal Clutterbuck was a dirty, nasty player. I was just reminded of him today.

My main dislike is for dirty players who try to injure opponents. The dirtiest plays I ever saw were Clarke on Kharlamov, Dale Hunter on Turgeon, Cooke on Savard, McSorely on Brashear, Torres on Silfverberg.
|
Bertuzzi on Steve Moore. And the people that defended and justified it.

The dangerous dirty players: Cooke, Clarke, Torres.
The a-hole players: Avery, Tikkanen, etc (I don't include Marchand but lots would).
The floppers: McDavid, Burrows, Wilson, Subban
The whiners: Draisaitl, Gretzky.

If there's still a space available I'd like to nominate Chris Drury

I put Drury on there over Clutterbuck because I think he’s more disliked. I believe that rounds out the 64 but I’ll do a count tonight and see if there’s room for Clutterbuck.
Keep the suggestions coming, I may swap some of the first round fodder out for any really good ones we may have missed.
Edit: yes we are at 64 players for an even bracket. I’ll keep nominations open for another day or two and make tweaks to make the bracket as entertaining as possible.

Hey friend.
I just wanted to say good on you for your post here. I’m not sure what the history was or what actions you’re refefencing as I guess I don’t read a lot of the feuding or back/forth, but it takes character and strength to acknowledge faults and you deserve to know and hear that.
This is uniquely true online where one doesn’t have to own up to their behaviors or actions and is protected by the safe haven of anonymity. In most cases it’s easier to even double down when confronted or just go dark or outright ignore versus owning up.
But you ultimately chose a path far less travelled. And as you can see by all the likes from your post, it was extremely well received.
I don’t want to derail the alternate purpose of your thread which is gaining traction, so please refrain from replying to this as it’s not required and is as of now off topic. This is just a footnote in a thread otherwise intended for Sean Avery.
With respect,
JMac
