It was pretty much the reverse plot twisting of most GoT episodes. A gruesome moment interrupted by royal lineage.
I'm glad they revealed that early though. I'd had it spoiled by YouTube titles, so I'm happy that a major plot point related to the ending wasn't spoiled.
But yes, this kid has been a brilliant actor so far. His one quick comebacks are great. I also loved the bit about the pub song. That's exactly how a highborn kid, with no real life experience, would over analyze it.

I love that some of you guys didn't see it coming! That's a real tip of the hat to the way it was shot and acted.
I read the book so knew it was coming, and there were a lot of little fun "tells" up to this point, but I wondered if it was obvious to someone new to the franchise.

Even for non-book readers, we knew Maester Aemon spoke of Egg on his deathbed in GOT.
As well as the many clues strewn throughout the open episodes.
I just kept thinking back to Tywin speaking to Arya about how he could tell she wasn't passing as a commoner in S2.

The season is already half done! It’s only 6 episodes. Keeps it from dragging though. Initially I was sad it’s so short but it really keeps things moving. And of course the source material is quite short.

I remembered Aemon calling out for Egg on his deathbed so knew the twist was coming, but I thought it was effectively done still. Ep 3 was a big improvement.
Ep 4 is on pirate bay now for anyone else sailing the high seas.

Yup. Inject that straight into my veins.
"Your kid is a little twat and I'm sick of it so...####'s goin' down!"
That is the theme of this show that I've really been enjoying. Dunk is a 'Hedge Knight.' But he genuinely and honestly believes in the honour and duty and service aspects of Knighthood whereas the rest are just in it for personal gain and personal glory.
So when the Knight shows up at the end to support him? #### yeah!! Lets do this ####!!
