Which leading scorer are we talking about? Hunt? Tied for most goals with less games played.

I would rather give Stromgren a real shot at third line minutes instead of Hunt. Out of him, Kerins, and Morton, I think Stromgren has the best chance to graduate and stick in the NHL. I also like Stromgren's size... I don't know if he uses it very well but I like the idea of having big wingers flanking Zary, especially if they have a nose for the net.

Good point, thought. Beecher will be healthy soon and I should consider what is going on with the D to get to the full roster.

Assuming trades to Kadri, Whitecloud, and Coleman (if he gets back from IR in time). Huberdeau, Honzek, and Bean are LTIR.

Gridin-Frost-Coronato
Farabee-Backlund-Sharangovich
Stromgren-Zary-Klapka
Lomberg-Beecher-Pospisil
X: Kirkland, Kerins

Kuznetsov-Weegar
Bahl-Parekh
Hanley-Brzustewicz
X: Pachal

Wolf
Cooley

Fortunately, at 10 she still reaches out to hold my hand when we walk places, and every time I wonder, is this the last time it happens. Because one day, there will be a last time and she is getting to that age. Then I try not to cry.

Damn kids steal your hearts.

I am so very excited.

Stromgren-Zary-Klapka
Lomberg-Pospisil-Kirkland

Zary needs to get a good look at C and I think Klapka could provide him some support by being the big guy an making room. Also, I think Klapka should get into the top 9 ahead of Kerins or Morton.

I think giving Stromgren a big look on the third line would also be more interesting than Kerins or Morton. In his limited look he played on the 4th line and I think we'll see more if he gets third line minutes. If he struggles mid-game then you can swap him with Pospisil and move Kirkland to #4C.
Gridin deserves a look on the top line. Would be amazing for the rebuild to have one of these many depth forwards become a first line talent. At 19, he's already 2nd on the AHL team in PPG behind Dryden Hunt.

That’s awesome, thanks for sharing this. I helped coach my oldest through softball for years. She ended up pretty elite to where I had to step aside and simply offer to help run drills, etc, to the higher end coaches. Her 17yo season they won Cities, then Provincials, then Nationals in Quebec, then flew direct to Delaware USA as Team Canada for the Little League World Series. She’s aged out now, but we’re entering our 3rd season playing slo pitch together which is so awesome.

My other daughter does BMX racing. I pedaled around as long as I could when she was little. But now she’s one of those downhill mountain bike racers and freestyle BMX riders. My God. She is ranked #1 in Alberta for BMX Pump Track racing. Pretty cool.

My youngest son is 21 and still gives me a hug and a kiss on my shoulder before he goes to bed like he has done since he was 2 years old, it’s the small things that are the best about being a parent.

Yes, Hunt has by far the best PPG on the team. 39 points in 31 games. Gridin was the only other Wrangler that even approaches PPG. So the only reason to go with Kerins or Morton is that they are 6 and 3 years younger, which is a legit reason if you are testing them. Though I'm not sure Kerins can play 4th line effectively.

As far as lines go, I think Gridin would benefit from consistency, so I'd keep him with Frost for now. I actually thought Gridin and Huberdeau were starting to develop chemistry.

I think Farabee has potential to be the new Coleman, so I like him with Backlund.

Really great hearing about everyone’s youngsters today- I’m out of thanks as usual, but thanks for sharing! We should do a “introduction” thread.

I have been a step parent to two wonderful teenage girls over the past 5 years and it has been a good journey with them and am looking forward to having one of my own as well.

This will happen.

Bold prediction?

It happens before July 1 2027.

I think if we able to find next young McKinnon and Rantanen from next 2 draft, then with Wolf and other young players he may come here.

When I think of certain liberation milestones, out of diapers, out of the car seat, can stay at home alone, driving, moving out, etc, the only one that still breaks my heart is the day they stop reaching for your hand.

As long as Mckinnon becomes McKinnon faster than the 5 years it took him in Colorado. Rantanen took 3 years.

Makar is a UFA after next season.

We won't likely know if we have a few elite superstars by then even if we draft them this year.
