No kids, but I adore my niece and nephew.
Neice is 5, started playing hockey this year. Her under-7 Timbits girls team was selected to play at the Saddledome during the intermission of the Flames game on Jan. 31. Great event, they even setup all the girls with a stall in a mock Flames dressing room with their own nameplates like the Flames.
My niece got an assist on the only goal! So at the Dome on home ice she is undefeated with 1GP - 0G - 1A - 1P with maybe 3 minutes of ice time. She's currently tied with Parekh for points. Not saying generational talent but...

With two boys in their late 30s and early 40s, I get exhausted with our two high-energy grandkids at 4 and 7. The 7-year old is a girl and budding hockey player (woo hoo) and the 4 year old boy is just learning to skate. However, having gone through the parenting stage, albeit rather a bit back....I understand the exhaustion!

My grandsons refuse to get into hockey, they love soccer- and their hero is Rinaldo....

The middle turns 18 next week.
To those with young kids and are always exhausted. Hang in there. You'll eventually get used to being exhausted. If you stay involved in your kids lives then you'll always be exhausted but it is worth it to be involved as much as they let/want you.
My kids did sports. All three did hockey, my daughter just quit hockey this year to focus on volleyball. I coached all three of them for several years and this is my final year. I'm excited to have free time after I'm done coaching but I'll miss doing it. I'm sure I'll find new ways to stay exhausted!
