Notice they are just letting the fact the Oilers should have been in the box slide. #### Rogers!!! Draisaitl should have been in the box and not on the ice to score the goal. Will they show a replay during the intermission? Will they talk about it or will it just get brushed under the carpet. Fugking game management.

If this was an Oilers broadcast (i mean it kinda is) they would show 10 different angles of that elbow and there would be an entire expose in the intermission about why it should be a suspension to a repeat offender

Not trying to be a dick, I don't actually know the rule. If your stick contacts somebody in the face, it doesn't matter where their face is?
|
Rule 60:
Quote:
60.1 High-sticking – For “high-sticking the puck”, refer to Rule 80.
A “high stick” is one which contacts an opponent above the shoulders, provided their shoulders are at waist level or higher. Players must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a player is permitted accidental contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or follow through of a shooting motion, or accidental contact on the opposing center who is bent over during the course of a face-off. A wild swing at a bouncing puck would not be considered a normal windup or follow through and any contact to an opponent above the height of the shoulders shall be penalized accordingly.
60.2 Minor Penalty - Any contact made by a stick on an opponent above the shoulders is prohibited and a minor penalty shall be imposed.
60.3 Double-minor Penalty - When a player makes contact with his stick on an opponent’s neck, face or head (above the height of the opponent’s waist) so that injury results, in the manner of drawing blood or otherwise, the Referee shall assess a double-minor penalty.

Embarrassing commentary there. Shameful really. I don't think I would want to know what their comments would have been on the Minnesota ICE shooting videos.

Hrudey is who he is at this point, he's just having fun watching hockey games and stays neutral regardless of it being a Flames broadcast. Not my favourite, but it doesn't bother me as much as it does everyone else here.
Abbott on the other hand is so passive, and doesn't notice the small details that Rick Ball was great at spotting. But a missed penalty that leads to a goal for the player that should have been penalized? Feel free to call it out FFS.

Hrudey is just to eager to praise players - maybe because he was one. An he ignores the dirty stuff they do.
You are correct about Abbott - maybe we were spoiled with Ball but Abbott just misses so much, mixes players up, doesn't know things like what a reverse hit looks like.
