She almost didn't do Schitt's Creek. Eurgene Levy really wanted her, but she didn't want to take on anything long term at the time. He eventually convinced her to do the pilot and if it got picked up, there was no obligation to do the main series. Fortunately she ended up wanting to keep doing it, because it's hard to imagine another actress in that role. Levy and O'Hara had great chemistry. Those SCTV folks really liked to stick together.

That's not fair Kootenay, I actually started tearing up watching this clip with O'Hara and Candy in it.
You're not the only one. The recent Candy documentary is still fresh in my mind, and the news about O'Hara hit me pretty hard. I was a mess watching that clip.
