Wow. Novak could've ended it right there, but chose unwisely.

Credit to Novak for an outstanding match. Sinner just faded down the stretch. 15-40, 0-40 in the 5th set and not breaking serve isn't good enough in a GS semifinal.

Sinner 2 for 18 on break point opportunities. That is unreal.

Once again I'm going to have to get up early and watch the Australian Open final in hopes that a Spaniard can defeat Djokovic, I hope it goes better than the last 2 times
Credit to Djokovic I thought he had no chance against Sinner anymore but I guess I should stop second guessing the goat.

I am in disbelief.. to be able to pull off a win like that at 38 against Sinner is shocking. I guess that's why he's the GOAT. Sinner was a 16-1 favourite going into this match.
If he beats Alcaraz on Sunday this has to go down as one of the best achievements in sport.

Sinner just going for too much on many of those break chances. He's the younger, fitter player, should be forcing Novak to rally more. Also thought Sinner should have used the volley more to bring Novak in to again push him more physically.

He probably doesn't get to the final without the default and Musetti retirement but at the same time he still had to go out and win the match. It just seemed he was the guy going for it in the 5th set with all those down the line winners while Sinner was just trying to keep the rally's extended.

The semi finals certainly saved what was a bit of a mediocre AO.

Absolutely, one of the most boring in my memory. But logically when you have the top four seeds in the semis, they both should be at least very good.

Saving 0-40 was absolutely clutch. Sinner played it too safe in the fifth.

I don’t think the 4th ranked player in the world winning a Slam qualifies for greatest achievement in sports.

Meh he was gifted a lifeline while being rag dolled by Musetti in the QF and didn't even have to play his 4th round match either. The advantage for an older player to not have to exert themselves one match, and to be saved from certain defeat during the final days of a tournament is massive.
It is nowhere near one of the greatest tennis feats and certainly not in sport in my books. There's no coincidence here that he's finally hanging with Sinner and possibly Alcaraz while both are worn to a pulp and he's relatively fresh by comparison.
Really, it is absolutely gutting for Musetti who was looking like he could have taken the event had he not fallen to injury so abruptly as his level was higher than anyone I've seen from the QF onwards so far.
