I hope Kadri starts improving. The way he is playing, it seems like he is intent on retiring a Flame.

This. Might be a hot take, but I would do it for Ritchie alone.
If you read Sandman's predraft scouting reports on him, he sounds like the real deal.
Credit to Sandman, who saw all of the strengths before Ritchie even had the point totals to back up the package.

Great news! Although, he is certainly playing like it and is a net negative to the team right now which helps the tank.

My napkin assessment:
Canadiens - good chance - they need a C and are in a playoff spot so buying makes sense to load up for a few playoff runs.
'Canes - good chance - They could use a C, are locked in for another playoff run, and have assets to trade.
Islanders - good chance - They can bring in Kadri to fill the spot vacated by Nelson and reward the team for bouncing back from last season

Red Wings - maybe - They could use both Kadri and Whitecloud to make some noise in the playoffs
Wild - maybe, need to win-now - pushing all of their chips in to try and convince Q.Hughes to stay (sounds familiar?). They could use Kadri as a 2/3C but

Kraken and Mammoth do not really need Kadri but he would certainly upgrade their GAF meter.
Leafs - do not make sense - 10 points out of the playoffs and C is not their biggest need. They also do not have the assets to acquire Kadri.

What about the southern teams - Dallas, Florida, Tampa?

With some of our insiders saying that flames are going to work with Kadri to send him somewhere he wants to go, I hope this doesn’t end up being Kadris camp forcing his way to Toronto.

I posed a question last night along the lines of "who in Calgary would you consider untouchable" when it comes to moving assets off the Flames if it meant making the team better long term.

From what I was told, it doesn't sound like there's truly a 100% untouchable asset on the Flames at this point if the "right deal" presented itself. Though I'd have a hard time believing they'd move Wolf.

With that said, there's obviously a list of guys the Flames aren't looking to move, meaning they aren't shopping them at all. These are the guys we all know, guys that are expected to be a big part of this team in the years to come: Wolf, Parekh, Gridin, Reschny etc.

Interestingly enough, I asked about all the vets and I get the feeling that there's some division in guys who want to rebuild and guys who aren't really that interested (not shocking) so it'll be an interesting next month or so here. Obviously CGY isn't going to be moving half the team at the deadline, but I think there's a real possibility that someone not named Coleman/Kadri is also moved if a deal presents itself.

With Toronto currently out of a playoff spot I am not sure that’s where he wants to go

I've still got Dallas/MTL as my front runners.

So in his 32 thoughts podcast update on Panarin, Friedman mentioned he heard that Dallas doesn't want to trade a 1st. Concerned about their prospect pool.

The summary you posted in the panarin thread was eye opening

Dallas doesn’t want to trade firsts
Colorado wants him only as a rental
Vegas doesn’t have what it takes
Minnesota can’t bring him in if they want to extend Hughes

If the 4 top teams in the west are playing things that conservative, probably not good fits for Kadri at all.

Go east, young man.

Not just Conroy, its been a few years in a row now when we expect a ton of movement / big deals and all GMs sit on their hands for the most part. Though thats more a draft thing I suppose.

If the offers aren't there I hope he does. Coleman will still fetch a good return next season as a rental. I just don't know if teams interested in Kadri will be able to fit the last three years of his deal in as most of the teams that could use him for a cup run don't have that kind of cap space available.

100% agree. Perfetti could use a change of scenery, but I think Wright might be a locker room cancer. Can’t prove it, but I believe it.
