Open both ends of the can. Push the paste into a Ziploc bag. Freeze. Break off as needed.

I discovered tomato paste in a tube years ago, no more tomato ziplock baggies like a pleb for me!

Freezing is a good idea though, they should sell tomato paste frozen cubes.

I just bought a 3 pack of those large style ice cubes trays. Was going to use them for cooking related things. Like white and red wine when you need a little bit for a recipe. Tomato paste would be good in there as well. Need some other ideas.

Pesto cubes are fantastic to have kicking around if you're a fan.

I call those 454's, because they are Big Blocks.

If you make your own broth, or just want to save smaller portions from the carton you can freeze that. I often don't use a full can of coconut milk, so also good for that.

I also have the larger two and four cup Souper Cubes. Being celiac and lactose intolerant, I gotta make a lot of my own stuff. So I freeze soup bases like cream of chicken and mushroom. Bean mix for burritos or dip. My freezer is full of cubes!

I have those and use them quite a lot. Frozen gravy (make home made gravy once, use every time I buy a rotisserie chicken), homemade stock, homemade chili paste, stuff like that.

I also use the 1 cup sizes for things like chili.

my wife bought a TON of baby food freezer containers when our first kid was born. after our second had out grown baby food we went thru all the containers - tossed a bunch that were in rough shape and kept the rest.
i love them!
i use them for pizza sauce, marinara sauce - stuff like that. i'd say they hold about 1 cup

I need to get one of those detachable grid styled ice cube trays to do a bunch of cubes I can just start tossing into a single freezer bag for things like tomato paste, garlic, ginger, broth, pesto etc. I should also probably start freezing unused tomatoes in the freezer more often. Dunno about coconut milk, but certainly stuff that isn't as good/no dry powder option is worth considering. Using ziplocs as a pseudo piping bag to extend the open life a smidge is an intermediate concept worth considering too.

Finding out about condensed milk in a tube was also a game changer, but finding a regular supplier and regularly grabbing those vs the cans is the hard part. Broth... I'm not bothered by powdered to the point I need/want frozen from scratch and frozen options. Not to mention I can do a relatively easily and decent broth via pressure cooker + smidge of MSG.

I also found an Asian place with good mustard powder. Basically I can have something that's kinda like a brown deli/dijon mustard on demand by mixing it with water and acid (ie: similar to powdered wasabi concept). The mustard that goes with certain cold plates appetizers at certain Chinese restaurants that doesn't have an easy pre-made equivalent. I'd no longer have to worry that I only use mustard a few times a year and I frequently throw out mostly full bottles of mustard that are many months past the best before date and liquidly/separated.

Agreed. Most of them broke within a few years though. That being said, those super tiny 150-200 ml ish mason jars are just as amazing and more durable for similar usage.
