Default Poll: How satisfied are you with the Flames' re-build so far?

This question admittedly states the Flames are re-building which is how the vast majority have voted. Those that don't feel that's the case can choose to opt out of this poll or state their view anyways.

On a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 meaning not satisfied at all, and 10 being extremely satisfied, how satisfied are you with the Flames re-build up until this point.”.

Satisfaction has a bunch of dimensions. How aggressive they have been, how proactive, if they should have started earlier. People can choose to consider whatever dimensions they want, and if they want outline those factors in their responses. This question simply quantifies the level of satisfaction amongst the fan base on here.

If people don't like this poll, I will threaten to start a poll about the satisfaction levels of the poll. You've been warned.

7 - happy with the progress of the tear down, but a rebuild should be measured by how well to reconstruct your roster, and that remains to be seen.

I wasn't trying to say they shouldn't vote. I think they should.
I was just stating that the underlying assumption is that the Flames are re-building, hoping to bypass continued debate on that specific point.

But in no way was I trying to suggest those that voted No in the other poll should not vote in this one.

I re-worded my post to make that more clear hopefully.

I know I know, its just funny...don't take it too seriously its just a kids game afterall

Also, IMO you should re-do both polls after the deadline and we can compare results

pretty happy at this point. Stockpiled picks, drafted well. Asset management has been largely okay. Long way to go, but so far so good.

I went with 8. It's not exactly, move for move, how I would do it but I am willing to give Conroy a chance to see it through. There is a lot of moving pieces we don't see behind the scenes so we will never truly know what is going on.

I gave them a 6. I think they are rebuilding but could have been a little more proactive with trades in some cases and PR/messaging has been pretty bad. My vote will likely change to a 4 or 8 depending on what they they do with Kadri, Coleman, Whitecloud, and Frost over the deadline and offseason. I’d like to see them sell at least of those and all four by next season’s deadline.

The drafting has looked really solid but it’s early days and they need to hit on some top line talent.

What they do in the next year will say a lot. Coleman and Kadri are at peak value.

If they keep both i would find it frustrating as we are overstocked on the left side and again Coleman has value right now. Take advantage of it Coleman is not going to be a difference maker moving forward.

Kadri will be harder to deal because if the length if contract. See what lands in your lap. However his attitude has soured so may be forced to move.

One of Farabee, or Sharangovich should probably be traded. We’re committed to too many winger. Pachal, Miro taking up space.

Whitecloud and Weegar are question marks. Weegar is older having a poor season has low value. Whitecloud may return less but would be sought after and is younger. Keep. trade Weegar even if return maybe isn’t fabulous. If its atrocious keep until next year.

To me you have a chance to get real assets for guys that arent part if the plan moving forward. A rare congruence for flames fans of having things ither teams want but will they sell?

I gave an 8 as I believe they have done close to enough to get the missing superstar forward prospect. I think they could do more but they are positioned well right now. I think trading Kadri and Coleman and making these trades earlier would have got Conroy a 10, but holding out for more doesn't seem to have worked but could cost us a very important piece in thsi rebuild.

Add Stenberg or McKenna to this prospect pool., hard to believe that any Flames fan wouldn't be very excited to watch Flames hockey as soon as they lace them up for the Flames. They still have a chance, hopefully they don't blow it.

I gave it a 7. They have as many intriguing, skilled, and interesting prospects as I can remember in my time as a Flames fan. However, none of that means anything if they don't do anything with it.

They are drafting a bunch of skill and stockpiling youth. Just keep building.

I gave it a 7.

They have been drafting well. And overall I'm not too concerned with the returns they've gotten for key assets.

But I do think they could have been more pro-active in some of the decisions the last 18 months (since the Markstrom/Mangiapane trades) to lean even heavier into a tear down and try to really accelerate that stage of the rebuild to accumulate even more draft picks, and bottom out to get those true high end picks.

I would have probably voted 9 or 10 if this poll was done July 1 2024 after they had just moved Markstrom and Mangiapane, but the stagnant nature of the last 18 months reduces the score for me.

Gave it an 8. No team has torn down their roster with a focus like the Flames have had on accumulating draft picks and your players. Expect them to continue to do so. Question is what will come from all the picks they have (and will continue to) accumulated.

I'm ok with it.. voted slightly dissatisfied but not super upset or anything. Trades have been good, for me it is just down to pace. I would have liked to have seen them move a little faster and recognize a fairly aggressive rebuild was needed a little earlier, particularly last year was not enjoyable and felt like kind of a wasted season with mediocre draft picks. It was after 22/23 where you could see where the team was headed and they did start moving in the right direction just slowly really just moving out the older players as they hit UFA. I feel like the flames easily could have had a top 10 pick last year if they had moved a couple key guys out earlier in 24/25 or the previous summer.

But if they move Coleman or Kadri before the deadline ultimately I feel like they are finally on that right track and we'll have a good young core in a few years now. Just would have been nice to have more of the pain already behind us!

This forum is probably not a barometer of the general mood in my opinion though, it's a fairly loyalist stronghold of supportive flames fans and especially last year and at the start of this year the only place I've seen where the sentiment is primarily more patient and positive though, among my older flames fan friends a lot either tuned out or were vocally calling for them to move quicker since 23/24.

Kind of a moot point now though, as I think in general that seems to be toning down as with Andersson gone everybody can see now that they are actually on the path and people will shift to focusing on whether or not they get the decisions right re who they draft and the trades rather than going on about the team having its head in the sand. In particular once they draft a guy at the top of the draft that everybody gets excited about I think the enthusiasm of fanbase will really start to rise back up.

I think the moves Craig has made have been generally fine. I would like to see a little more creativity/aggressiveness, but the drafting has been strong and I've liked almost all the trades he's pulled off, except for the timing of some of them.

Incomplete. If they sit on Kadri and Coleman and simply stick to trading people when they're forced to it'll be a 4. If they get ahead of the game and accelerate the rebuild by trading their most valuable tradeable assets closer to a 7

For me a solid 6. Maybe Parekh can be an elite player but otherwise the prospect base is good, not great but that's what you get drafting outside of the top 10 (yes I know Parekh was 9th overall). I'm hoping the next few drafts pushes them up to the 8 mark.

No top 3 picks yet, so I can't grade it that high. You need those to have a successful rebuild. It looks like it could happen this year, but we will see. Ideally you need more than one as well.

It's just so early in the process. I see some things I like, but a whole lot of question marks still to say I am satisfied. I'm not dissatisfied though.
