So I just learned that Tom Homan was appointed to head of ICE by Obama during his presidency and Obama awarded him some presidential award? And Homan is apparently the guy who came up with the idea that separating families with their children was an effective way to deport people? Ugh, what's wrong with the US.

Obama hired him as the guy in charge or removals. Homan started to talk about removing children from families the following year, as a way to get parents to leave voluntarily.

He did indeed get an award from the Obama administration after he put that forward.

It was Trump that made him director, but yes, he was first put in ICE by the Obama administration.

Just so we're getting this right..

Escalation on the left = raising signs and vocally protesting for rights and freedoms
Escalation on the right = shooting citizens in the head after helping someone and framing them as terrorists

Clearly apples and apples.

Somehow I doubt the state sanctioned kidnappings and murders would cease if the protesters all went home right now but you can keep living in your pretend reality.

Are folks finally realizing that two things can be right? That Trump is very awful, but Obama was kinda shtty himself. Never get Canadians who applauded him when he visited. Like thank you sir how bout another?

You know Trump is out of control when even my hardcore MAGA friend (he was losing it over the apparent "stolen election" back in 2020 ) is saying Trump needs to be removed from power. Never thought I'd hear him say that...

So if Bovino is just an ordinary guy now, and isn't the leader of a government organization, does that mean he has no personal protection? He's just a guy?

Because it would be terrible, just terrible, if something were to happen to him. You wouldn't want some vigilante to make an example of him for others to see what could happen to them if they act as temporary enablers of authoritarianism and facism. Would be a real shame.

It’s less realizing anything and more just that normal people can talk about Trump without bringing up Trudeau and Obama every time they do.

Both sides. I didn’t realize Obama was a demented, fascist convicted felon who raped children

In fairness OldDutch said Trump is very awful, but Obama was kinda shtty.

Very awful is way worse than kinda shtty.

I mean, we often associate the Democrats with "the left" when they would be further right then the CPC (generally, Maple MAGA skews the results).

Bovino out is good...sort of. Homan is just as fashy just better at hiding it, he doesnt go in for the giant nazi coat pr filming walking around throwing tear gas, so it wont necessarily change whats going on in MN.

Throwing Obama in with Trump as bad people is how I read it, and thank you sir how about another seals the comparison.

I’d also point out that Ronny Jackson was somewhat respected as White House physician until Trump came along and the mask fell off.

Obama did some ####ty things, like all presidents do. Drone strikes killed civilians, even children. I wish it hadn't but that wasn't the intended outcome. They were targeting terrorists.

Trump is doing ####ty things because he's a ####ty person who surrounds himself with other ####ty people. Trump is not a fascist, because that would mean he stood for something, but he's given fascists like Miller free reign to enact evil policies because they tell Trump they make him look strong. We know he's not, but his base doesn't, or doesn't care because they're ####ty too.

I have had the same experience. Hardest of hardcore, and or so I thought, and now he claims he never really liked Trump. I was shocked. Still wants to talk about Somali daycares, but it’s not like he was going to go through an entire ideological change.

Its all so stupid...

Around 6:15 a.m. on Monday, “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade pitched a solution to President Trump’s growing political problem in Minnesota. “What I would do is just bring Tom Homan in,” he said.

Kilmeade, a Trump booster who knows the president often watches the morning show, volunteered the idea again at 7:15 and once more at 8:10. Homan, the border czar and a former Fox commentator, would “settle things down” and help Trump, Kilmeade said.

Maybe Trump was watching, maybe he wasn’t — but either way, he said, “I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight,” 20 minutes after Kilmeade suggested it a third time.
