In another thread someone said Coronato's height and I was very surprised because he doesn't play particularly small. He's not a monster like Klapka and he's not Lomberg who goes looking for contact, but he just seems like a regular hockey player as far as physicality goes.

I was looking at stats and saw Yanni Gourde is 5'9". Does anyone ever think about his size? Marchand's? Arviddson's?

I did like Coronato staring in bemusement by the bench at Wilson yesterday, wondering what his escape plans were

Still think wyt-potter-coronato can be a great all-american line for us. All three are fast and have great puck control. Potter and Wyt can carry and coronato is good in the dirty areas. All three are good shooter and passers.

How many games has Honzek played? 30 or so? He might be off the list

So excited for this pick. At the risk of being premature... this kid is going to be the steal of the draft and will be unreal for the Flames. I love that he and Coronato are good friends, it helps alleviate the obvious fear of a US player forcing his way off the team.

Team is looking loaded on the wings. If we pick top 2, it's going to look really good and skilled in a couple of seasons. RThat no. 1 C is going to have plenty of talent to play with when they arrive.

He was drafted out of the USHL like Gridin was, so is AHL eligible this season. There isn't any agreement between the USHL and the AHL.

If I had to pick a 'star' player that Calgary has in the organization for this rebuild so far, these are the players I would pick:

Wolf
Parekh
Wyttenbach
Gridin

Maybe more pop-up (and I hope so), but I do think that these are the prospects that are likely going to be recognized as the 'core' players that will be stars.

Prospect pool still looks like its missing something until that elite forward is added.

I think we have top 6 players between Wytter, Gridin, Reschny and obviously Coronato (Potter I'd say top 9)

But need a couple surefire top liners. I expect those arrive this year and next.

Mews should bolster an already good looking defense group and the goaltending is basically set.

This kid is so special. If he was a first round pick people wouldn't be talking about him being the 6th-8th best prospect in our pool. They'd be talking about him being #2 with roughly 30-35% ranking him #1.

Sit back and enjoy the ride.

He has played 23 games. He is still eligible for calder consideration, should he not return till next year and a player is no longer considered a NHL prospect after 50 games played.

5’10” and 185 lbs. isn’t that small, and I expect he’ll play at closer to 200 lbs.

I am not good at this kind of stuff but the comparable for me is Johnny Gaudreau in my opinion.

Is he a quick/elusive player? Have not watched May highlights aside from his ridiculous shootouts skills. Gaudreau was so quick and elusive that teams really struggled to check him. His top speed was probable slightly above average but not by much… it was his first 3-5 strides that were elite quick and his edges while handling a puck.

Would you say Wyttenbach has those kind of qualities?

Good edges but speed definitely not a strength at this point. From what I gather, it will be the thing he needs to work on most in order to give himself the best chance to translate his skill.

I’ve heard a lot of comparisons to Guentzel. Which would be an absolute steal of a pick

Caufield is a pretty similar style player to Gaudreau, just righthanded and more of a shooter. Caufield wears #13 in honor of Johnny after all. So our comparables are somewhat similar. I like the Guentzal comparable.
