I would think most hockey fans know what city the Saddledome is in.
How many could correctly locate Rogers Place vs Rogers Arena or Canadian Tire Centre vs Canada Life Centre?
I've been to both of the Rogers buildings, and I still can't

The big Scotia S on the roof should be a flaming C. Also it's still the roundup center.

Canada Life still confuses me, still think of it as MTS Place.

The ubiquitous nature of all of the new arenas (Place, Center, Field, etc.) is kind of the point.
The corporations pay big bucks for the naming rights. They don’t want people calling the Scotiabank Saddledome ‘the dome’. They want people to say the name of their company.
No one will say ‘we’re going down to the Place to watch game’. They’ll say ‘we’re going down to Scotiabank to catch a game’. And that’s what they want.
That’s why we likely won’t see any more building names with character anytime soon.
I don’t like it. But that’s where we are.

"The Fireplace" or "Corral 2.0" is what I will try to use, but it feels forced (by myself) at the moment.
I still remember seeing the construction progression of the Saddledome and how excited I was about it. Now my kids are experiencing the same thing. Circle of something?

If anyone says I’m going to Scotia or I’m going to scotiabank to watch a game I’m going to punch them in the face and I would encourage all of you to do the same.
The place, fireplace, the dome. That’s what you’re allowed to call it.

Sex cauldron is definitely acceptable but then what if it gets confused with the OG sex cauldron?

I'm already confused, when did Scotiabank start sponsoring a sex cauldron?

When they got the naming rights to the Calgary Events Centre.

It would certainly make the 'Grease-Up Giveaway' night interesting...
Cockfighting at intermissions with the losing fowl being cooked up for a lucky section of fans...the scent and impermeable stain of cooking oil just saturating the entire building.
Fans skidding across the ice on blocks of cooking lard as a promotional venture.
The possibilities are endless.
