For the size of TV (55") it seems like it should be fine. MemEx has a two stud full motion one too so that's an option.

That’s a similar style (same manufacturer) to the one I have that I was wondering about in the TV thread. It has held up really well, but yeah I went directly into the stud. If you have a stud finder it should be easy to locate the stud edges.

But still probably worth looking into.
I've been using a Vizio SB4051 since 2016 and it's been fine but also acting up for a few years now. Back speakers basically dead, so it's sorta a 3.1 system now. It's hard to find a replacement for what Vizio was offering for a decent price. I got close a few times but ultimately felt like I wanted more value at the price or to aim higher.

I ordered a TCL Q65H soundbar and awaiting delivery. It seems reviews on the Q65H are kinda similar to the SB4051 I'm migrating from. Very good for movies and games, not as good for music and occasionally dialogue. No back speakers for the 5.1 sound and apparently dialogue comes out of the woofer? We shall see how it goes. I'm hoping I can tweak settings or update firmware to lessen the sound issues like I did with the Vizio.

I hope it works out. I've been monitoring for an inexpensive Vizio like 5.1 replacement for a while, but nothing piqued my interest that is sub $800, which was well over my budget.

Not going to compare this to anything else currently on the market. IMO, the TCL Q65H is a noticeable step up from my Vizio SB 4051 after initial tweaking, and I haven't done the AI sonic calibration yet nor am I using it with a TCL TV which sparkly might offer a slight performance bump. But I'm also not sure how badly the performance might have degraded on the SB 4051 due to age.

The main bar does take up more space than the 40" Vizio, but also no rear speakers via virtual surround sound. I paid around $300, I'm super happy with performance vs price.

I wouldn't necessarily say to rush out to replace any vizio 5.1 system with this. But if you wanted something similar in performance and value, it's capable of hitting a similar performance/value to the Vizio 5.1 systems and is worth evaluating in that manner.

How are newer TCL's with HDR? The one I bought a few years ago is SUPER dark when playing HDR content. Night scenes are basically unwatchable.

You might have to look at rtings on a case by case basis and there's a difference between different types like UHD and QLED.

I get what you mean. The TCL TV I bought can look brutal for HDR. Unlike my previous TV, I feel uncomfortable if I don't change the settings when going between gaming, movies and sports. Intelligent settings does allow for semi automatic changes between media types, but not good enough.

Just got an LG OLED B5 from Costco. I'm sure there are better but this is the nicest (and most expensive) tv we've ever had. Set up in basement home theatre and it seems really nice so far. The blacks are truly black. Went to The store set on buying an $800 tv until I saw this one.

Holy smokes, news that Sony's selling the majority of their TV business to TCL is straight out of left field.
