But, knowing waht i know about PT Andrsson and his relationship situation and his past movies, I dont think I believe the theory. It's just typical woke slop that is more over the top than his other movies.
But also there is a lack of good sci-fi movies these days.

I mean, there have been multiple terminator movies and series since then T2. Are these somehow different?
I would maybe agree that T2 would get pushback for having a strong female lead. Your ilk seem to not like that. A black Elon Musk character as well? not sure how you would deal with that.
Is it anti-cop? given the villain wears a police uniform?
Is preventing a future AI apocalypse somehow passe?

Similar as to how 'The Handmaid's Tale' is being taken as a step-by-step 'how-to' handbook to some misguided elements of our society, we too at some point shall be looking to the Terminator series to save our society from AI.
Although in that case, the Robots have a very cromulent point in determining that maybe, just maybe, humanity shouldn't be entrusted with the difficult and delicate task of running of this World.
We're not doing a very good job...maybe its time to step aside and let the Robots have a crack at it if they think its so easy!

Are you unaware of the concept concerning the passage of time?
Terminator 2's shoehorned ideological messages resonate pretty strongly today: anti-militarization, anti-AI, anti-technological dependence, etc.
But they might go woke and turn a white male character into a brown woman and, well, we can't have that.

Oh, I was able to catch No Other Choice finally after it recieved a slightly wider open this past weekend in a small and packed theater with no trailers.
Took some pretty wild turns. Just a notch below Parasite on that front.
Funny in parts, a bit absurd, and thought provoking. Koreans are weird, and I like it.
Would recommend, but a stream from home would be fine for this one.

Oy...the internet has ruined so many minds these days. It's hard to watch in real time.

Caught up on more movies this week:
House of Dynamite: Funny to see Idris Elba playing both the British PM and American President in two movies released 3 months apart. This is tense political thriller that almost feels like a horror at times. The first part is edge of your seat engaging but I was wondering how they were going to make a movie based on a 20 minute ticking clock. The following of different people at the same time does work to fill in the blanks and explore all the characters but does mean things get repetitive by the 3rd part. Not sure how I feel about the ending which is maybe the point. 7/10
I Know What You Did Last Summer: A great example of the problems with these soft reboots. They can't decide whether to be nostalgia bait or take the series in a new direction and end up failing at both. There are a few interesting changes to the formula and the horror and gore scenes are acceptable but it's mostly just forgettable. The worst part is the big twist being poorly set up and making little sense. 3/10
The Surfer: A solid entry in the man goes slowly insane genre. Gotta love Nic Cage with his acting and the filming style succeeding in bringing the audience along for the ride. Has a retro Ozploitation vibe with an interesting theme around masculinity. Is strange/surreal at times and goes off the rails at bit at the end. Did enjoy seeing the random Aussie actors pop up (RIP Julian McMahon). 8/10
Tron Ares: A 10/10 Nine Inch Nails music video that doesn't quite stick the narrative parts in between. There is some potential here, and I really liked the idea of the programs being used as hackers and needing to visit the original grid, but the 3D printer stuff was too silly and should have been a much smaller part. Still fun to watch and Jared Leto was fine in the robotic role. Can't get enough of the soundtrack. Didn't seem possible to beat the previous Tron sound track but Reznor and Ross pulled off a masterpiece. 6/10
Wicked For Good: Has the same positives as the first part with brightly coloured cinematography and fun set pieces but lacks the interesting story beats and great songs. Feels like it's ticking boxes to wrap up the story and is overloaded with Oz easter eggs and origin stories. Is enjoyable enough but nothing special. 7/10
