Coleman is the perfect add for every team, no team gets worse adding him.

How many players can you buy right now that fit on a 3rd line that had a 30 goal season on a team that missed the playoffs last year, could hit 30 this year if CGY wasn’t a bottom five team, kill penalties, wouldn’t be a sore thumb on a power play, puts up numbers during the playoffs, has a cap hit of 4.5 for two years (buy him once, get him twice)?

If I could ice a Forward group of 12 Coleman’s I would, he isn’t flashy but he just delivers.

Coleman should be an easy trade. A 2nd round pick that could turn into a 1st based on conditions. Whether team wins cup or makes it to round X.

I can't imagine him saying no to a move to a contending team if that was available.

For better or worse - to me Kunestov has shown he should be kept in top 4 LD spot.

One of pachal or white Cloud need to be traded this year (or both traded).

Gotta think Whitecloud just fills rasmus’ spot today.
In future though I would expect the below. Though I’d prefer Parekh with weegs

Weegar-Whitecloud
Bahl-Parekh
Kuz-Brz

A few weeks ago I was thinking the best time to move Kadri would be in the off-season, where more teams have cap space to work around his hit. But now I'm wondering if he's more valuable to a team for a playoff run? Coleman has to go by the deadline. If he has solid trade value as rumoured here, now is the time.

Well start imagining it because he isn't going anywhere.

Conroy's trades have almost always been picks, roster player you may have been vaguely familiar with, and a prospect you've never heard of.

We aren't, and won't get, anyone's top prospects for future trades like Coleman or Kadri. Guaranteed.

And don't let any twitter sources try to tell you otherwise.
It's why I don't know why so many people spend everyday hoping for a trade when the major pieces are just picks. Don't get me wrong, the picks are what I want as a fan but the product on the ice just gets worse which is also what I want but it's clear some fans seem to have a difficult time accepting the losing.

He's got one more year after this before his modified NTC starts, with only 10 teams he can block a move to. He'll be 33. Would be smart to move him and get a haul while he still has game left.

I think a lot of people get their hopes up that we'll get something back, like a young roster player who'll make an immediate difference.

Just not happening.

Fans were hoping for a bit more excitement now, with a new hot bombshell prospect entering the villa. Picks are harder to get excited about for many until we pick the player.

Getting worse is also great to maximize our first, I just hate blocking more ice time from Parekh and Brz because we damn well know Huska will play the vets.

He is worth way more than a 2nd

A 1st is minimum

This is so silly. People can, and should, believe whatever they want when it comes to rumours. It’s all for fun and to foster some discussion. Even if it’s just a pipe dream, it’s entertainment, who cares?

Your guarantee is worth the same or less as any twitter source. You gotta lighten up.

Just like he constantly plays the veteran Pachal over the younger Kuznetzov? Oh wait...

It isn't based on nothing, he has made it clear he wants to here and he is the veteran leader of the defense group. The young guys like Parekh and Brz have raved about how much he has helped them get acclimated. You can't just go full nuclear and trade every vet and especially on the blue line. There is no appetite on either side for him to move.

Guess I'm not cool with being lied to.

But yes, I could stand to lighten up. You aren't wrong.

I wonder if there's an opportunity to get an asset by trading for Nick Leddy once he clears waivers. Could park him in the AHL and bring him up as a veteran presence if we go full fire sale

I hope Conroy learns something from these debacles and negotiates future contracts so they have zero trade protection in the last two years of contracts. Give a NTC/NMC for the first four years of deals, but no protections - none - in the final two years of deals so we don't have this garbage hanging over our heads. Learn from the past and prevent damage to your organization. Might have to pay a little more, but gets the team where they need to be in sustaining the viability of assets.

If you really look, teams only trade top prospects in deals where elite players are involved. You aren't going to get a teams top prospect for guys like Toffoli, Zadorov, Lindholm, Hanifin, Andersson, etc especially as rentals. To get a player like Buium it took Hughes who is a caliber of player the Flames don't have in their organization.

Yep, and thats the mindset I've settled into. We don't have that elite talent and probably are guilty of overvaluing what we do have. Doesn't help when local media and others tout our players as being these big fish on the trade market that should command great returns. Though my definition of great and theirs may vary wildly to be fair.
