gotta believe that if they win the cup this year, the 27 1st becomes unconditional, since we already own the 28 1st

Wiebe was ranked #8 in the Athletic summary of their prospects from this summer.
Highlights
- Was drafted as an overager
- Won the Top 3 award in the BCHL
- Big with a shot that is a weapon from the point on the PP
- Good first pass
- Some "pro quality there"
That's about it.

Makes me wonder if Hanley or Pachal are next at the deadline.

Watch out Avs, here comes Vegas.
Whatever as long as one of them stomps the Oilers

Honestly this return is pretty close to what I expected if I was being realistic, but its so hard not to get swept up in all the exciting deals being thrown around by insiders on social media etc. I dont blame anyone else for being disappointed I cant help but feel it a little too.

Prospect that I'd assume they like
Are we saying two 2nds and a prospect isn't worth a 1st?

I doubt Whitecloud is worth a second. And two late seconds are not worth a first.
You cannot squint hard enough to turn this into two firsts.
But it's the best Conroy could do with a rental player.

Well they bit on the deadline return from Vegas ahead of the deadline. People got overhyped by twitter but Andersson must have been dead set on Vegas.

We got a first and a second, that’s all that matters. The 2027 draft will be fun!

What? No way. He was a great guy and played awesome for us for years. I wish him the best and will stand when they play his video upon return!

I don't fault Rasmus. He signed a sweetheart deal that underpaid him for most of that time. He had the right to either go where he wanted, or set himself up to test the UFA waters.
This will mean 2 firsts in 3 straight years. I like that.
Was hoping for a better return but not going to lose sleep over it.

Friedman on 960 says on Sunday that Andersson indicated that he would not sign an extension with any team at this time once that happened the pendulum swung to the Knights.
Knights were always willing to trade without an extension in place because they were confident they could sign him.
Doesn't see Dallas beating Vegas offer.
Was told that Toronto's 1st was not part of Boston's offer. Thinks Lohrei and another 1st was involved but extension had to be included.
Friedman didn't think Flames would get this much from Vegas.

Could work out really good for CC, I like his logic, good calculated risk that he took here

Eff that crap. I hope Noah and Rasmus never touch the cup unless it's at the hockey hall of fame.

Remember when I said I was afraid Conroy would take less to get it done before the Olympic break? That's exactly what happened. The other teams wanted access to talk extension and Andersson was having none of it. So Conroy got gun shy about holding the asset any longer and Andersson pretty much shoe horned him into dealing with Vegas. It's tough being a Flames fan

Calgary can trade Whitecloud to Toronto next season for a first and their top prospect. Got a lot of Carlo similarities.
