Kraken are overachieving despite a string of injuries and illness. Bolstering their D makes a ton of sense to me.

I think at least two of those are Connies. Lindholm and Markstrom.

Could see it being the team(s) that he would consider signing with besides Vegas would have to over pay on salary to get him to agree to an extension. Vegas may be his preferred destination overall but if a team offers enough money while also being a pretty desirable destination and a competitor, he might forget Vegas.
Imagine this option:
Sign with San Jose now for $10 million x 8 years
or
Sign with Vegas in the offseason for $7.5 million x 7 years
In this example, that’s a difference of $30 million over the course of the contracts. Those are completely made up numbers and teams but I could see that concept being the selling point for Conroy/acquiring team to get Andersson to sign.

I have enjoyed watching Anderssons career progression as a Flame. Some great memories of him playing here in Calgary. I want to continue to watch and cheer for him and wish him nothing but the best in hockey and in life. But, if he Hanifins the Flames on his way out, that's going to be hard to do. I hope this all resolves itself shortly and everyone parts on good terms.

Came to thread expecting to have 50 new pages to read. Left surprised!
Even insiders, “insiders”, Orange Julius listeners, and speculators need rest after the previous all nighter.

Yes, the difference between an 8 year deal that goes from 30-38 versus a 7 year deal that takes him to 37 is a big chunk of money. He may not get another contract at 37, most players do not, and if he does it would probably look like Petry's league minimum contract. (There are only 3 active players 38+ in the league right now? Burns, Letang, Petry)
$10Mx8 = $80M
$9.5Mx8 = $76M
$10Mx7 + $1Mx1 = $71M
Andersson wants to sign an extension. He just says he is willing to walk to UFA as a negotiation tactic to signal to teams that they need to bring their best offers.

Won the trades that added:
Lanny, Mullen, Nieuwendyk, Gilmour/Hunter, Bullard, McCrimmin, Mattress, Iginla
Trader Cliff was awesome

Coates made a couple of good ones – the Iginla trade that you mentioned, and also getting Robyn Regehr for an aging Theo Fleury.
Then later on, there were the trades that added Kiprusoff, Lindholm/Hanifin, and as SutterBrother mentioned, Brzustewicz/Gridin and Bahl/Reschny.
They have won plenty of smaller trades over the years, but those are the biggies I can recall just offhand.
EDIT: When Fletcher got Doug Risebrough out of Montreal for a swap of picks, that was some pretty neat work.

I wish I had a better answer, but unfortunately I don’t.
“It’s complicated” because teams (multiple) have had discussions and offers submitted for both rental price and extension (if he’s willing to sign)
Unfortunately for CGY, Rasmus has flexed his right to choose on some of these teams and has advised them he won’t sign, so then CGY has to go back to the others and leverage the deals again.
I’m guess this is part of why it’s dragged on so much.
Lots of back and forth, lots of teams changing up offers, teams coming in last minute etc.
Hence why it’s complicated, and I agree it seems silly… but CGY needs to make sure we get the BEST offer and not rush to sell him to the first bidder.

Happening today, heard the team most likely recently rumoured is the destination.
Yesterday evening, I texted a former NHL player that I'm buddies with now, he said "I have no f'n idea". Take that with a grain of salt.

The risk is Conroy overplaying his hand. If he's apparently happy with the Boston deal, that deal may not be there if he goes back and forth between teams.

To our insiders:
Thank you for all of your periodic updates, no matter how teasing they may be.
Secondly:
From your sources, and what you're able to share, are the offers that you're hearing close to what the rumors have been? When the trade happens, will Calgarypuck implode with either "ITS NOT ENOUGH" or "ITS A HOME RUN"

While possible, I’d be pretty sure that other GMs have had the EXACT same issue with other trades/players (their own or others) and are not overly perturbed by dealing with it. Patience is likely to win.
